Queen and King of the Darkside

Chapter Six

Saasha

As I lie in bed, I think about my cousin Antanasia. She's not at all like the rumors that have been viciously spread throughout the nations. I didn't see a frail american girl, with a soft mind. I saw a strong vampire queen, who is not afraid to put her king in his place, a queen that's is strong but fair... good qualities so far.

I sigh and sit up. I will find no sleep tonight. I walk to my door and step out, thinking maybe a walk would help tire me. Suddenly, someone stumbles into me.

"Shit, I'm so sorry, I wasn't paying much attention. Are you okay?" A girl around my age looks at me with concern. Not the concern of a servant to a royal, but of an equal.

"I'm not hurt... who are you?" I've never seen her at royal court, but then again I never set eyes on the queen til this evening. Odd, how things work.

" Melinda, but please call me Mindy... you must be Saasha. I'm the queens best friend from the states." Ah that's why she treated me as such. I like her, she doesn't let station scare her.

"Nice to meet my cousin's closest friend. Maybe, we could walk together? I'm not familiar with the castle... I promise I'm actually a kind person, unless given a reason not to be." I assured her, because of the skeptical look being thrown my way.

"Um, sure. I was heading to the kitchen for some ice cream," I held out my arm, " Care to join me on my sugary quest, my lady." I laughed at her response, she cocked her head to the side, and the look she gave me was as if I had grown two extra heads. She finally giggled, and took my arm.

I don't think she's ever had a friend act silly with her... poor girl. Me and Jess will have to show her a good time, I thought as we skipped our way to the kitchen.

Saasha

This girl is so delightful. I haven't smiled this much since I was a child. "May I be honest with you?" I ask as she takes a bite of ice cream. She nods yes. "I truly like you, I also really like Antanasia as well. At least I think, I do. I haven't the pleasure of spending time with her, as I have with you." She looks at me and smiles.

"If you like me, you'll like her. It just takes some time to get warmed up to her. Being queen has taken its toll on her trust, and as queen, she can't be seen acting like a silly american girl. Also, she has Jasper to protect now... Ooooo! Do you want to see pictures of him? My god-baby is so damn cute!" I chuckle a little, shake my head yes.

The first one is of Lucius, my cousin, and them holding a tiny bundle wrapped in blue. The love in this picture is shocking. I've never seen a Vladescu look so happily in love.... or happy for that matter. As long as he protects her and that baby, I shall respect his existence.

Hey guys I know it's kind of a short chapter, but there is more to come I promise. Finally got another job so if the updates get slow again that's why and again I'm sorry I'm horrible about remembering to post my updates... like I have another story that I have like ten chapters head of the three or four that I already have up and I keep forgetting to put them up.
