Queen and King of the Darkside

Chapter One

Antanasia

"My King, our son is awake and I do believe that it is your morning to be with him," I say looking into Lucius's dark loving eyes.

"I believe my Queen to be right." He smiles and kisses me, before getting out of bed to tend to our son. I watch Lucius with Jasper, and laugh when Lucius wrinkles his nose as he changes a dirty diaper.

"Is it so bad as to ask a servant to change this... monstrously smelly thing?"

"You will do no such thing, you need to learn to change him properly. Besides, we agreed when I was pregnant that we would be the ones that would raise our child, and that includes all the smelly un-pleasurable duties of parents. No one, outside those we trust most, will be allowed alone with him... its safest considering what has transpired in the past," I say remembering my own blood nearly getting Lucius killed by framing him for Claudiu's destruction. "Plus, I think it would look quite comical to see a warrior king run in fear of a stinky diaper," I tease him.

"Perhaps, but those who laugh must have never encountered such a stench... Nor will they be laughing long." A wicked smile breaks upon his lips.

Suddenly there was a commotion in the hallway outside our door. "If you don't get out of my way so help me-," just then my best friend in the world mashes her way through the door. "Where is he, where is my gorgeous god-son?" Lucius looks from Mindy to me, probably pondering whether or not to escape with Jasper into one of the secret passageway.

"Take it easy Min, he only just woke up. And-"

"Oh, please. He loves me," Mindy cuts me off. "Now, hand his cute butt over, before you guys are late for the meeting with the guard." She must have noticed the look that passed between me and Lucius, because she quickly added, "Don't worry, your mom had something come up, and asked me to watch Piccolo . She also let slip the meeting, but you know me I dislike almost everyone here and distrust even more people."

"How is Raniero, he has not been responding to any of my attempts to contact him?" Lucius had sent several emails, letters, and called once or twice.

"He's been really busy. He's been away for a few weeks giving surfing lessons, this time he is remembering to make them pay for lessons..... but I haven't heard from him, myself, in a day or two (which is normal sometimes). I don't know why he isn't answering you," she looked thoughtfully at us.

"Well, we should go. We have our cellphone, should anything happen."
