Chapter Seven

"Jess!! Hello? Jessica! Oh for the love of... HELLO! Yeah, hi your highness," I kind of giggle at her reaction. " Sorry, I've only been chasing you through the castle."

"Oh, I'm sorry. I've been lost to my thoughts all day... Are you okay, Min?"

"Yeah, but are you okay?" I arch my eyebrow at her. She's been acting weird since her cousin arrived yesterday... Could be do to the fact the another "relative" tried to off her.

"Yeah, I'm fine... I'm just worried. Saasha and Lucius have a history... not a good one either." She shakes her head.

"Don't tell me that they had a thing and it ended badly.... Damn I actually liked this one, but if she's competition I'll-"

"No, no, no! That's not what happened at all," she laughs but then gets serious again. "She tried to kill him in my honor, she couldn't bare the thought of a Vladescu with her blood."

"Well I knew I liked her for a reason. Anyone who defends my girl, is a friend of mine. Oh, that's what I wanted to talk to you about, that girl needs friends. She's so lonely."

"So you have met her? You really like her?" She gave me a hopeful and questioning look. I nodded.

"She's a peach. But I really think it would do her some good if we had a girls night.... You know there's a ginormous unused room in the west wing? I was thinking home made movie theater, popcorn, cheesy vampire movies, and manicures." Her face brightens and she hugs me.

" You're the best! I have to go pick up a few things in-"

" Civilization?" I cut her off this time. No offense to the locals, but the village down the mountain is cute but it's somewhere to visit the go home... not make it home.

"Min, stop trying to be a city girl, you're from the middle of nowhere too." She laughs as I have a childish moment, and sticking my tongue out.

"Let us go find her then?"

"Yes, let's." We giggled and linked arms like we did in school.

Saasha

I sat back and watch the two in front of me, laughing at their childish merriment. This must of been what Melinda was talking, she's a completely different person away from the castle.

"Saasha, you are awfully quiet over there... Is there something wrong?" I'm pulled from my thoughts, to find the pair looking at me with concern.

"Oh! I'm fine. I lost my thoughts for a moment. Well, I'm lost entirely anyways. Who's this Tim Burton? And What's Hogwarts?" They had just been talking about a Tim Burton inspired Hogwarts painting???

"Oh, Jess. We have to watch the Harry Potter movies now... and Tim Burton is a film director. He's directed several "dark" children's movies." She hands me her phone," Here's a few of his movies."

"Those look delightful, is that odd to say?"

"No! They're amazing Mindy and I watch the every year on Halloween,"

"Oh, Jess, I miss those days," Melinda looked slightly upset.

"Maybe, we can all do it again. It may not be the same, but I'd love to join in holiday merriment." I smile as Melinda pops up and squeals.

"I knew there was a reason I liked this girl.... Our tradition shall live on!"
