I was in a deep sleep while waiting for my family to come out of the eatery. I suppose they had already gotten in the car, because I felt thuds of the car doors being shut, and the purring of the engine starting up. Guess my family was considerate enough to not wake me.
"Damn, Kanji can really sleep trough anything can't she?" Brandon exclaimed.
"Well of course she can! She takes after me!" My dad said proudly.
"Oh yeah dad, keep telling yourself that." They both laughed at Brandon's stupid sarcasm. He took that from me anyways.
"Guys, you should really be quiet. Kanji seemed pretty upset when she walked out of the bathroom, so maybe some quietness and rest will help her relax." My mom whisper-yelled. It's not like they would care about her input.
"Honey, this is the girl who slept through a hurricane once, so I don't think loud voices will wake her up." Dad said, practically yelling just to prove his point.
"Mom, look I will blast my music right in her ear and she still won't budge." Brandon added. He took out his phone, put the volume all the way up, found the loudest song he had, place right on my face and began playing it. Yet I still lay there, calmly sleeping like a small infant child.
"Alright, you have proved your point. But at least stay quiet for your grandmother's sake alright?" Mom said, eyeing Brandon.
"Okay we promise." Brandon and dad said simultaneously.
It had been about three hours until I finally had woken up. That was a much needed "nap". It helped me clear my mind of all this crazy shit.
"Well good morning sleeping beauty." Brandon said, referring to my extremely messy hair.
"Shut up dill-hole." I replied. I wasn't in the best mood to put up with his stupidity. "Dad how much farther are we till we get to my aunt's house?"
"We're only about fifteen minutes away."
Bless the freaking Lord. I'm so anxious to get there. Like I just to kick my feet up and relax, and most importantly, clear my head. This was beyond the weirdest day of my life. It couldn't get much worse could it?
Fifteen minutes went by extremely fast, because before I knew it, we were in my Aunt's driveway unloading the car.
"Hola mi preciosa familia!" My Aunt Hilda greeted us. I have to admit, she was probably my favorite aunt. She's really cool and I can easily talk to her about anything.
"Hi Tia!" I said with a big grin on my face. "It's great to see you again!" I have her a big hug.
"Hola mami! How are you?" She said, also with big grin. She has such a nice smile, it's not fair.
"I'm good! Just extremely tired and," in a whisper I said. "I have to talk to you whenever you get he chance."
"Okay mami, I'll call you over when I have time." She patted my back and went to greet the rest my family.
I grabbed my bags and walked into her house. Nothing has changed at all from the last time I was here. All except the huge new tv and fish. I wonder if the old house mates are still living there.
I was tempted to go see them, until I heard both my cousins, André and Ella, scream my name from the top of the stairs. How could I have almost forgot to see the little cuties? They are, after all, the loudest kids I know!
"Kanji!" They screamed once again. Man they've gotten a lot bigger since I last saw them. A year can really change a couple of kids!
"André, Ella! I missed you guys!"
