I sit in my seat next to Tori and we both wait for tea to be served. I sit staight and make conversation with the other girls at our table. Just then they bring out cookies. As one of the servers comes over to us he trips and spills the tray on Tori. She gasps and the servers apoligizes. "I am so sorry miss. Are you alright?. I am so sorry , I don't know how I-." She stops him and let's out a laugh. "It's alright. It was an acedent. We all have our acidents. You didn't hurt anything." She stands up and brushes the crumbs off her dress before sitting back down. "Thank you ma'am." He says and walk off to go get more cookies. We turn back and see that the tea was poured while Tori and I were looking away. I take the cup and take a sip. Quickly regretting it, because of how hot it was. I set it down and hope that the burning will stop. I look around and see Ashlynn smirking. I roll my eyes and pick the cup back up, making sure to blow on it.

A little while later everyone is done with their tea and are talking with each other. Tori goes off to talk with the other girls while I go walk through the garden. I get just inside the garden walls and slip my shoes off. I love the feeling of the earth on my feet. I run through the bushes and trees, careful not to tare my dress, when all of a sudden I run into something. I fall backwards onto my back and look up. To my suprise I see Avi bending down to make sure I am ok. "Sorry I didn't see you there." He says extending his hand out to me. I take it and pull myself up. "It's my fault I wasn't watching where I was going. I'm sorry." He shakes his head. "How about its both our faults." I giggle and nod. "Would you care to walk with me agian?" He asks taking my hand. I blush. "Sure." We hold hands and walk through the garden. A few times I look up and see Ashlynn glaring at me from the balcony. I just shrug it off and turn tawords Avi to listen to what he is telling me. "For years my family has The Selection for each heir to the throne. But honestly I don't want it. I want to marry who ever I fall in love with, not who ever wins the competition." I nod. "I couldn't imagine marrying who ever won a competition instead of marrying who I love." He shrugs. "I guess I'll have to get over it. I just hope the girl I fell for wins." I look up and him then quickly look at my feet. "You've already fallen for some one?" I say with disappointment. "Yeah, I guess I have." I don't know why I feel so disappointed. It's just when ever I'm around him he makes me smile and I get all happy. Could it be love? I shrug the thought away. I could never be the girl he falls for. I'm just some poor girl who tries to act like she belongs here. Just then I hear the castle bells. "I guess we should head back. Their announcing who is going home." Avi tells me. I nod and slip my shoes back on before running to the balcony.

"Tonight instead of sending one girl hime we will be send 3." The Queen explains. I hold my breath and pray I don't get sent home. "If I call your name please step forward. Lisa, Clarrisa, and Jessica. I'm sorry but we are sending you home." Jessica burst into tears and I chuckle. She was one of Ashlynn's 'friends'. After the three girls are gone the Queen turns back to us. "Now, that you all have made it past the first round it is time to give you your tiaras. Each one has been specifically designed for each girl. We expect you to wear your tiaras everywhere you go." We all nod and the bring the tiaras out. Since I am at the end closest to Avi he place my tiara on my head. Before he walks off he looks me in the eyes and winks before walk to the next girl.

Once everyone has their tiaras we are dismissed. I go to Tori and I's room and take a look at my tiara. It has 4 blue stones and is covered in diamonds. I smile and sit it on my bed stand before changing into a sleep dress. I crawl into bed and stair up my ceiling thinking about Avi. I let out a sigh, I should like him but I can't help it. I've already fallen so hard for him.

Just then Tori walks in the room. "Hey girl. I wondered where you went. What's wrong?" She asks worried. I sit up and pat my bed for her to sit down. "Have you ever liked someone that you know you can never be with? Like you've fallen so hard that there is no way to get back up?" She nods and looks down at her hands. "There's this guy that I meet here and we both know we can never be together. She says sighing. "Is it Kevin?" I ask and she nods. "Well if it makes you feel better I've fallen for the Prince." She gasps. "Kirstie, I'm sorry." I shrug. "It's okay. I mean as long as we're friends I'm okay." "Good." She pulls me in for a hug then goes to change. I pull my blanket over myself and fall asleep.
