Chapter 4

A week later

Kirstie POV

I wake up and am meet with Mitch leaning over me. I let out a yell and fall out of bed. "What are you doing?" I yell. "I came to wake you up. The queen and king requested you." I jump up and run to put on the dress he picked out. I don't even bother looking at what the dress looks like. When I run back put Mitch let's my hair sit in natural curls, and he does simple make up. I am done in 10 minutes, that has to be a record for us. "Thanks Mitch I'll see you later." I put on my tiara and run. I start to wonder what the king and queen could want. Maybe their kicking me out because of how much time Avi and I have been spending together. Even though I km i have feelings for him he has been a great friend this past week. That's happened twice this week Ashlynn was kicked out because she was caught cheating at out horse riding and Donna was kicked out because she got in a fight with one of the gaurds. I stop running and am fixing to walk into the throne room when Mitch runs up. "You forgot this." He says while hooking my necklace around my neck. "Thanks." He winks and I walk into the throne room. I walk forward and curtsy before the king and queen. "Rise lady Maldonado. There us no need to bow." The king tells me. I rise and stand before them. "We want to know what you would do if you were to be queen?" I stand there and think for a moment. "First I would help the area where I come from. They are so poor they can't afford a pair of shoes. Once I help them I would see what we could do to help other kingdoms that are in need. As a queen others look up to you and when they see you act kind towards others they'll follow you example." "That is very true. As a queen you can't think about just yourself you have to think of others." The queen tells me. "Before you leave can we ask you something? Not Queen and King asking you, but as your possible future mother and father-in-law." I nod and they motion for me to come closer. I walk over and look at them. "We have seen you and Avi around together and we want to know do you really have feelings for him or is this all just an act so you can help your family? We know you are a very sweet girl it's just we don't want our son to fall for someone then have his heart broken because the girl did not feel the same way." I nod understanding what they meant. "I can a sure you that I have feelings for him. Now please I beg don't let that be a reason to keep me around. I want to move on because I have what it takes." They nod. "Also can I ask what our challenge for today is?" They chuckle. "That was your challenge. Well the first part anyways." "Oh." "Don't worry you did great. You can go now if you want breakfast should be served soon." I curtsy and head to the dinning room. Inside I find Esther and Tori talking agian. I take a seat next to Tori and wait for breakfast to be served.

After breakfast

I walk out to the balcony and try to see how far I can see. If I look close enough I can see about where my house is. After about an hour I go to my bed room and find Tori packing up. "Where are you going?" I ask worried. "Don't worry I'm not leaving I'm just moving down to the maids quarters." "Why your not a maid." "Because I dropped out. The only way Kevin and I could ever be together is if I'm not in the competition. So I took up the job as a maid here." She explains. I pull her into a hug. "It's going to be lonely without you in here." I say looking around. "Yeah, I'll miss this room. But hey at least I'll be around the castle if you need to talk." I nod. I help her finish packing and we hear a knock on the door. When I open it I see Kevin standing there. "Hey Tori I'm going to talk to Kevin outside for a minute." I call. When I hear an 'ok' I step into the hall and look Kevin right in the eyes. "You better take good care of her, you understand. I won't hesitate to hunt you down if you hurt her." He nod. "I would never hurt her." "Ok, good. Now let me go get her." I skip back into the room. "Your man is waiting for you." I say nudging her. She laughs and walks out with her bag. "I'll see you later." I say waving. Once she leaves I look out my window and see Avi standing there looking up at my window. He waves for me to come down and I nod. I run outside and see Avi standing with a basket. I smile and walk over to him. He takes my hand. "I was wondering if you would like to go on a picnic with me?" He asks simi nervous. I tap my chin like I am thinking. "Sure, why not." He leads me off into the woods. "Where are we going?" "Some where from people. So it's just you and me."
He leas me future in then stops. I look around and see we are in a little clearing. "It's beautiful out here." He smiles and sets a blanket down for us to sit on. I take a seat and help set out some food. I see he picked out a bowl of fresh fruit and some little finger sandwiches. We each take a fork and pick at the fruit and our sandwiches.

About an hour later he looks at me. "Can I admit something to you?" He asks. I nod and he takes a deep breath. "Remimber when I said I fell for some one?" "Yeah." I say trying to sound like I'm fine but on the inside I feel like I'm dying. "Well I think I'm ready to tell you who the girl is." He says nervously.
