Stonestar took a deep breathe and puffed out the fur of his chest.  His pelt burned seeing Frostpool laying in the clearing.  His face was showing he was love struck, he quickly noticed that other warriors were staring at him, he shook off the expression.  Stonestar had always felt 'differently' of Frostpool, since they were denmates in the nursery. Her soft meow with lighten the word for Stonestar, even in a cloudy night, in the deepest part in the forest during LeafBare. Stonestar felt comforted at the sight of her. Stonestar looked at his paws and sighed You can't do this! He thought But I have to at least tell her how I feel He reminded himself. Stonestar built up all his courage and padded up to Frostpool.
Frostpool looked at the world with wide eyes, fascinated like a kit out of the nursery for the first time, she knew that their is always more to be discovered. To her everything was bright like the sun, she looked for anything different or anything that could be discovered. She turned her head away from the forest, noticing there was a slight image as of a grey tabby Tom. She turned her head quickly, Stonestar? What does he want? She wondered, tilting her head. She gazed at him, looking for anything new to discover, her eyes were drawn to his bright blue eyes, and his long grey pelt, blowing in the snowy, cold wind. She always thought of Stonestar as a friend, in till they became old apprentices. She found Stonestar's personality different and refreshing, after that she couldn't get he the grey Tom out of her head. She always hid it, not wanting to interfere with Stonestar's ambition to become leader. I wish... She thought, thinking of him But he has too much responsibility She sighed.
Stonestar padded to Frostpool, his pelt still burning with nervousness, he took a deep breathe. She looked into her green eyes, wide with wonder and her white and grey shirt pelt shining in the sun. Why would a beautiful she-cat like her love me? He wondered, but he knew he had to get his emotions out. If I don't ask, I won't have a chance! He reminded himself.
"F-Frostpool?" He muttered, stuttering nervously.
"Yes?" Frostpool mewed, curiosity was overwhelming in her meow, it was soft and elegant.
"W-Well... I-I... Umm... have something to confess..." Stonestar mewed firmly, yet very many stuttered due to nervousness.
"Go for it!" She purred, comforting him. She always the cat that others went to, to share their emotions and thought, she expected that it would be the same chase with Stonestar.
"I-I love you! I always have, since I heard your meow... So kind, elegant and beautiful. I've never been able to get you out of my mind! S-So... Would you like to be my mate..." Stonestar asked, his voice quivering from nervousness and anxiety, waiting for her reply.
Frostpool brushed out into laughter
Stonestar fell into silence, he felt heart broken and embarrassed. I'll never have a she-cat as good as her... He thought. Stonestar walked away, embarrassed and disappointed.
Frostpool looked at him, she cut her laughter out. "No! Don't leave! Let me explain..." She mewed comforting him. "I didn't mean it, I-I just..."she trailed off.
"What!" Stonestar snapped.
"Look, just sit here with me..." She mewed, calmness flooded her meow.
"Fine!" Stonestar gave in, and padded slowly to her, and sat down.
"Look... I've always loved you, since we were apprentices." She confessed. "It's just," she started laughing again "It's ironic, I didn't want to ask you because you wanted to be leader so bad, when you always wanted to be my mate!" She laughed
"Oh! That's great!" Stonestar purred. "So what's your answer?"
"Yes! Of course you mouse brain!" She teased.
Stonestar purred loudly, they rubbed their pelts agonist each other's and purred. I'll never let you go... He mewed
