Chapter 19

Eagletail looked around camp, it was before dawn, but he could spot Stinestar and a few other cats in camp, he knew it was time.  It had been 2 moons since his sister had disappeared, and Treepaw and Feathertalon had gotten many deep scratches, Eagletail was sure it was from Stonestar, thinking they were weak, Sunfern had gone to StarClan, asking Stonestar if she could move into the elders den a day before.  Eagletail knew that Stonestar being leader for any longer would cause disaster, and maybe even the complete disappearance of CloudClan. 
When do I attack? Do I have to kill him 9 times! I've never killed a cat! And I don't want to! Eagletail was frightened, but he knew that it was the path StarClan had chosen for him.  Please walk with me StarClan, and please forgive me if I have to kill him... Eagletail prayed, squinting his large Amber eyes, he knew it was the right thing to do.
Eagletail observed Stonestar, the grey tabby Tom, was hiding in the thick briar behind the Tall Oak.  His bright blue eyes were staring at Beetlescar.  What did Beetlescar do to deserve death! He was my mentor! He had always been on of Windstar's most trusted warriors! I was once clan deputy! In till WindStar thought Stoneclaw would be better fit when Beetlescar had Greencough.  Is it because they never had a good relationship? Why! Why is he doing this! I have to stop him!
Out of the corner of Eagletail's shimmering Amber eyes, movement caught his attention.  He saw the leader, cover in mud and briar, wiggle his haunches, he was getting ready to attack Beetlescar!
Beetlescar was assigned to leading the dawn patorl, which is why he was eating a vole Eagletail had caught, to fill his stomach for the patorl.  But he wouldn't be on the patorl if Stonestar followed through with his movements.
Slobber came down from Stonestar's mussel.  Does he enjoy killing cats! Eagletail wondered.
Stonestar put a large amount of pressure on his back paw. He tucked in his neck, as he opened his jaw, showing all his large, yellow fangs. 
Eagletail snarled, furious towards the leader, although he was sure Stonestar couldn't see him, he made himself light on his paws, ready to leap in to rescue his former mentor.
Stonestar grinned manically, as he leaped, using a large amount of strength from his hind legs.  His long claws slid out,  as they dug into Beetlescar's back when he landed. 
"Ow! What are you doing Stonestar! I have a patorl to lead, this is no time of fun games.  And please stealth your claws, you know the warrior code!" Beetlescar yowled.
"Games?" Stonestar mimicked. "And you won't be leader the dawn patorl, you'll be up in the Stars!"
"What do you mean?" Beetlescar asked oblivious.
"I'm going to kill you! You're weak! You're old! You're coming home with less and less prey. You are getting more and more wounds in battles.  You're slowing down, so-"
"So, you want me to move into the elders den? Sure! But get off me then! Don't joke about killing me either!" Beetlescar interrupted.
"There is no elders den! You'll die! I'm going to kill you!" Stonestar hissed, as he opened his jaw wide, saliva dropping on Beetlescar's neck.  Stonestar flung his head forward, his long teeth aiming towards Beetlescar's scared neck.
Eagletail gasped, "No!".  Eagletail stormed towards Beetlescar, before any cat could say 'mouse', he leaped onto Stonestar.  "How dare you kill cats, how are you try to kill innocent cats!" Eagletail growled.
"Because they're weak, they're making the clan weak! They are using our fresh kill!" Stonestar explained, smirking.
"You'll kill the whole clan! I'll kill you 9 times if I have to!" Eagletail snarled, "I won't let you harm anymore cats!"
"Kill me 9 times? Ha!" Stonestar laughed.
"Why are you laughing you maniac!" Eagletail hissed.
"You think I have 9 lives! Why would StarClan give a cat like me 9 lives? I was deputy! I went to the Hallow Oak! They said that 'Blood is in my path, you shall not be leader, bring Eagletail here, he is destined to lead the clan', so when I woke up, sigh out my 9 lived, I went home, declaring I had the name 'Stonestar', That I was the new leader!" Stonestar hollered.
Beetlescar gasped, running away.  "You monster! I'm telling the clan!" He called, climbing up the warriors tree.
Eagletail snarled.  "You lying monster! The clan has been leaderless for seasons!"
"That's right, but I've been fine leading the clan! Haven't I?" Stonestar laughed.
"You killed half the clan!" Eagletail hissed.
Stonestar jerked his head to the left, looking at a crowd of cats forming around them.
"Oh, great" he muttered.
"This is CloudClan!" Eagletail hissed. "They stand my me! Your time is over!" Eagletail winded, I can't kill him... But I have to! For them! He looked at the cats around him.  Eagletail raked Stonestar's side deeply.
"Think that will kill me!" Stonestar growled, clawed Eagletail's stomach, to face.  "That will kill you!"
Eagletail winced, and growled, his non-exposed throat rumbling.
"Eagletail! You can do it!" Robinbreeze hollered.  "No! Eaglestar!"
"Eaglestar! Eaglestar! Eaglestar!" The clan hollered.
Eagletail smiled, puffing out his chest.  "Stonestar! You've caused nothing but distraction for the clan!  I hope you enjoy the Place Of No Stars!"
Eagletail dug his claws into Stonestar's stomach, as he kicked them out, leaving deep scars.  Before Stonestar could move freely once more, Eagletail pinned his back, and front paws.  A warm, wet, red liquid, coated Stonestar's body.  "It states in the warrior code 'a warrior does not have to kill to win a battle', so do you give up?" Eagletail snarled.
"Never! I will rule this clan! I will get my revenge!" Stonestar vowed.
"Then you asked for it, Stoneclaw!" Eagletail spat, as he opened his mouth wide, showing his large teeth.  He tightened them against the 'leaders' neck.  He clamped on, not to let go.  His mouth becoming sore from the pressure.  He felt Stonestar's body grow cold, and become limp.  He licked his lips from the blood.  "You will never harm my clan again! You might have killed Windstar, but you will never kill me!"
The limp body of the former leader lay limp.
Robinbreeze ran to Eagletail.  "You did it!  Are you going to the Hallow Oak tonight? Who is he deputy?"
"I'm gonna be the new deputy! The first apprentice deputy!" Thornkit mewed, pouncing on Robinbreeze's tail.
"No! I will!" Flashkit laughed, leaping on Thornkit.
"Sure! When hedgehogs can fly, Flashkit!" Riverkit squeaked.
"Did you really kill him!" Snowkit gasped, looking at Stonestar's body.
"I had to, for the clan, he was going to kill us all!" Eagletail explained.
"Are you really the new leader?" Nightkit asked.
"Yes" Eagletail responded.
"Wow!" Lightkit cooed.
"Feathertalon, we must climb the Tall Oak, then travel to the Hallow Oak, to receive my 9 lives!" Eagletail mewed to Feathertalon.
"Treepaw is coming to the Hallow Oak with us, she wants to see it, especially before she gets her name!" Feathertalon mewed.
"Feathertalon? Should I gather traveling herbs?" Treepaw asked.
"Yes please, and Eagletail, go get some rest," Feathertalon ordered.
Eagletail nodded,  "Will you put some herbs on my wounds first?"
"We can do that when you're sleeping, you need rest to travel, when you wake, we will say the speech!" Feathertalon mewed.
Eagletail nodded, drifting into a deep sleep.
