Night Changes - One Direction

Chapter 17

I wake up blinded by the sunlight shining from my window. My crusted eyes struggle to open so I rub the crevices of my eyelids and look from my left to my right. Something is missing. I can't put my finger on it.

Then it hits me. Riley's gone. I lean up quickly and examine the room trying to see if she was hiding from me or something. I don't see or hear anything. I plop my body face down on the bed again. As my face is sinking into the sheets of my comforter, I think about how amazing yesterday was. My mind begins to process all the dirty things Riley and I did. The amazing feeling of her hands when she touched me is still lingering on my skin. But the question is, where could she have went? And why did she leave without saying anything? I sit back up and turn on my phone to check if she might have texted me, but I had no notifications other than a bunch of people tweeting and texting me. I didn't want to reply to any of those stuff. I just wanted to see Riley. She might have went home or something so I my first instinct is to get up, get dressed, and drive straight to her house.

I grab my green beanie and my grey top and throw it on with a pair of black skinny jeans and my worn out white converse. My feet scurry down the stairs but before I go to my car, I stagger over to the kitchen to grab a quick bit to eat. I burst open the fridge then grab an apple and a bag of marshmallows. I rip the marshmallows open and stuff one in my mouth and close the fridge. Just as I turn around and begin to walk away from the fridge, I notice a big note on the fridge in blue ink. I stop where I am and turn around and to yank the note off the fridge with the marshmallows practically hanging from my mouth. I read the note to myself.

Good Morning Harry,

I know you were probably wondering where I was this morning and most likely you are running out the house to come find me but before you did so, you stopped by your fridge and grabbed most likely grabbed the most unhealthy thing from the fridge.

She knows me so well.

But anyway, don't bother coming to look for me. I'm just at home. I just needed to go home and have some time to process a lot of things. Because I've been think about some stuff lately. You know, like you and me. I just remember how a few weeks ago we didn't even know one another. And now we're practically inseparable. It's just driving me crazy just how fast the night changes. But thank you for the most amazing night of my life, it meant everything to me. Ttyl.

I take a deep breath. She was completely right. The night does change fast. I just met Riley and I'm already practically mad for her. I need to tell her that. I know she told me not to come over her house, so I'm going to respect that. But instead, I'm going to call her.

I pull out my phone and begin find Riley's contact. She's under 'pickle master' on my phone. I laugh as I tap on her contact and begin to call her.

It takes her 5 rings to answer her phone.

"Hello?" She says angelically.

"Hi baby, I got your note." I speak.

"Did you now?" She says.

"Yes I did. And how did you know I was going to get the marshmallows?" I laugh.

"Lucky guess." She says. I can feel her smile through the phone.

"I've been meaning to ask you why you left this morning?"

"Its complicated."

"Well, I would have liked waking up next to you."

"Yeah I know, I just had something to do. That's all." She begins to get quiet after that.

"Is... Everything alright?" I ask.

"Everything's fine." She says. I shrug my shoulders and brush off the subject.

"If you say so. I've gotta run. I miss you."

"I miss you too, bye Harry."

"Goodbye Riley." I say. She hangs up the phone before I even have the chance. I fear she's hiding something, but maybe I'm just over reacting.

I dial Louis' number because I have something urgent to talk to him about.

"Vas Happenin?!" Louis shouts as he answers the phone immediately.

"Hey Louis, I'll be over there in like two minutes." I say quickly.

"Wait what?" He says.

"I'm headed over to your place, we need to talk."

"But mate, I'm not at my house."

"So then where are you?"

"I'm at Zayn's with Niall and Liam." He says. I stop and hesitate for a moment.

"I love how you guys didn't bother to invite me to this little get together." I say sarcastically.

"We did invite you. We texted you like 8 times and tweeted you about it." He says. Ohhhh so that's what all those tweets and texts were about earlier.

"Oh..." I reply awkwardly. "Well, it's better that you guys are all together because I need as many opinions as possible."

"Okay whatever mate, just hurry because we ordered Chinese and if you don't get here in time it will probably be all gone." Louis says.

"Chinese in the morning?" I ask.

"Don't judge me it was Niall's idea." Louis says.

"Whatever,  I'll be there in like 5 minutes."

What do you think Harry has to talk to the guys about? And notice how I added all of the boys in the book. I really thought it just wasn't complete without all 5. Even though Zayn doesn't really count anymore. Ooooo and who's heard Zayn's newest single PILLOWTALK. It's actually amazing I love it.
