Chapter 29
My eyes struggle to open from all of the crust that has built up in the corners. I can feel Riley's body heat radiate on my skin. I release my grasp from her and fiddle with her hair.
"Good morning babe, happy birthday." I whisper into Riley's ear. I can feel her move around in my arms.
"Thank you love." She smiles. She turns her body around and plants a soft kiss on the tip on my lips.
"Do you want me to cook breakfast? I was planning on making pancakes and bacon." I suggest.
"You brought bacon with you too?" She asks as she gets up from the air mattress.
"Not just any bacon, but Canadian bacon!" I say with enthusiasm. She shakes her head at my comment.
"Yeah sure, Id like some Canadian bacon and pancakes. I'll just rinse off in the lake while your doing that." She says as she begins to take off her top. I can only see her bare back but it's turning me on. I try to hold in my erection by leaving the tent. I run over to the van and grab the bacon out of the cooler and the pancake mix out of the crate along with a mixing bowl and a spoon
I scurry back over to the camp site and grab the portable stove and turn it on. The stove is dirty from the last time we used it so I just quickly scrub it down.
Once I have finished I begin making the pancake mix. I pour it on to the stove and listen to the sizzling of the batter on the surface.
By now Riley is back over to the camp site. She comes up to me only wrapped up in a towel and her hair is soaked.
"Do you need any help?" She asks.
"Yeah can you grab the paper towels over there." I say while pointing but never actually turning back.
"Yeah sure." She says. I can hear her footsteps as she walks farther from me. She grabs a roll of paper towels then turns back and looks at me with out walking back.
"There's like 30 rolls right here, and they all look different. Should I use the durable ones or the soft ones?" She asks. I turn around to look at what she's talking about.
"Wait what are you-" I stop mid sentence. My eyes grow bold at the sight that I'm seeing.
"Riley..." I whisper to her.
"Yeah?" She asks curiously while still holding the paper towels in her hand.
"Walk over to me slowly." I say as I hold my hand out to her.
"What? Why?" She says loudly. I shush her quickly.
"Just walk over to me very slowly..." I begin. "And whatever you do, don't look behind you."
Riley's eyes grow bold as well. I can hear her breathing go un even. She slowly turns her head to see what's behind her even though I specifically told her not to.
"AHHHHH!" She screams. The big black bear behind us turns its head. It's palms were massive and he had a tuna clenched in his jaw.
Riley runs over to me quickly. She's so dumb sometimes. The bear begins to growl at us and slowly moves closer.
"Riley, run to the van." I say to her. She looks up at me.
"What?" She asks.
"Go to the van." I demand as I push her body towards the van.
"But what about you?" She asks.
"I'll be fine just go to the van." I shout. The bear inches closer to us. She lets go of me and runs over to the van. The bear was big but not big enough to the point where I would feel like I was going to shit my pants. It probably only wanted the bacon on the stove.
I have to improvise a way to grab some clothes for Riley. I look around the camp site for some lose clothes just hanging around.
By the tree to my left, there are my pair of flip flops and dirty shorts and white shirt. I slowly remove the bandanna that is on my head and fling it to my right to distract the bear. The Bears eyes follow the bandanna giving me time to sprint over to the tree and grab the clothes.
By the time I had reached the tree the bear had already noticed my absence. He turns and see me as I run over to the car. He begin to run after me.
As I'm running I shout to Riley, "START THE CAR!"
"What?" She screams back.
"START THE CAR!" I say as I nearly trip over a log. She puts her hand over to the keys and turns them quickly. The sound of the engine makes the bear growl more as it is running behind me. I'm still surprised that it hadn't caught up to me yet.
I run around the van until I swiftly climb in the drivers seat and step on the gas. I speed down the path until I get to the main road. I am horribly out of breath but I turn my head and look over at Riley who's face is a bright red.
"Riley, why don't you listen!" I snap at her.
"I'm sorry, it's just I wanted to know what you were talking about." She says shyly.
"I get that but you didn't have to scream!" I shout as I look at her then back at the road.
"I'm sorry..." She pouts. I know I shouldn't have shouted at her but what was she thinking, the both of us could have gotten killed or really hurt.
"Look, it's okay but next time just listen to what I say."
"Ugh, this is shaping up to be the worst birthday ever." She says as she bumps her head on the window. That's the last thing I was going to let happen.
"The day isn't over yet." I say.

That chapter was something that I just had to put in there. Don't ask why I just had too.
I haven't really been updating this book because I've been typing my last one but don't worry, I'll be doing both!
