(Chapter 1) Hyrule in Suffering

Link lived a small town in Hyrule known as Ordon Village. There he led a perfect, normal life. Every day, he would go to the ranch or ride horses with his best friend, Ilia. Hoping today wouldn't be any different, he reluctantly woke up from the deep sleep he was in for what felt like 7 years. (OHHHHHHHH OCARINA OF TIME REFERENCE) There to ruin his morning was none other his ever so faithful fairy, Navi.

" LINK! HEY! LISTEN! "

It took just about an hour of Navi's constant yelling to get him physically out of his bed, but when he finally did get up... It went a little something like this.

Link: DO YOU EVER SHUT UP? IT'S THE WEEKEND FOR CRY IT OUT LOUD!! (Link is a bit of a dick in the morning.)

Navi: Well excuse me, princess.. (More puns, I'M SORRY!) but there is something going on in Hyrule and Princess Zelda requested for you to meet her at the castle immediately.

Link: Ugh, fine.

Not too happy about the unexpected visit plans, he still did what he was told and headed off to Hyrule Castle, accompanied by his horse, Epona. Upon arrival, Princess Zelda was already in the courtyard waiting for him.

Zelda: Link! Finally, you've come!

Link: Yeah, so what was so important that I needed to be obnoxiously forced out of bed by the hyperactive chipmunk that lives with me?

Zelda: I apologize for the lack of warning, but it is very urgent. On the other side of the Faron Woods, an alternate dimension, the Twilight Realm, seems to have taken over almost all of Hyrule! The only place not affected seems to be your town, Ordon Village, as Ordon is just on the other side of the barrier.

" Barrier?... " Link questioned.

" Yes, " Zelda said. " I don't know much about it, but we need you to go see what's going on. If this gets any worse, Hyrule will suffer! "

So he did. He approached the twilit portal cautiously, being careful not to stumble into it while he studied it. So much for being careful! A giant hand reached from within and pulled him into the parallel universe.

⠀⠀⠀⠀Link, unconscious for some time, woke up once more, this time in a different and unfamiliar location. It seemed to be a prison cell, but he couldn't assess the matter very well as he was still slightly traumatized from the random encounter that got him here. He noticed, however, that he wasn't himself. Link looked down to find that his once hands and feet were now substituted with paws, and that he was chained up to a pole of some sort. There across from him stood an imp of the most ungainly kind, chuckling at the transformation. While Link had no idea what was going on, this mischievous creature before him did, and Link knew she did. Unable to talk, Link growled as the unknown figure hopped onto his back.

" Link, is it? I'll get you out of here.. But there are some terms I have for you, of course... "

Link gave her a puzzled look and awaited her response.

" I'll help you escape, but you have to do whatever I say!!! Got it? "

Link nodded in approval, and they soon were outside the walls of the infirmary prison.

The companion that stood by Link bowed and made herself known.

" Now that we're in partnership, I should introduce myself. My name is Midna, the Twilight Princess. "

Ahh!! First chapter completed! I just love this ship <3 I apologize for the fact that the beginning is a lot of explaining stuff, it's just for the sake of people who haven't really seen much of the franchise or even this ship in particular. Anyway, I'm thinking that this fanfiction will have 7 or 8 chapters. Hope you guys enjoy it!
