"Hurry up Kinney!" Iko shouted over the noise the scared crowd was making. "I'm coming!" Kinney shot another terrorist with his gun while running to Iko. "Took you long enough." She snickered. "Come on! There are some more guys over there!" She disappeared in an instant, teleporting to the enemies. He rolled his eyes. "Show off." He got ran there quickly, considering he had super speed. Iko was already attacking, her blue braids swept to the side, bow and arrow in her hands. She was shooting them in an alarming fast rate, he didn't want her to tease him about being a slow poke and not helping. He started aiming and shooting, causing Iko to jump. "I thought you were one of Levana's minions! Don't scare me like that next time, geez." Kinney's eyes widened. "Behind you!" He raised his gun and shot the person who was previously trying to sneak up on Iko. She turned around and saw the minion bleeding to death. "Oh. Oops...thanks for the save." Kinney smirked. "Next time, be more attentive." He said this in his most Iko-like voice. Iko crossed her arms. "Har har. Very funny. Let's go save more lives now."
They continued to work side by side, dodging bullets and bombs. It was just now how Kinney realized how good of partners they were. Iko seemed to realize it too and she looked at him as they continued to jog up the stairs to the roof. "Hey, did you ever realize that-" Suddenly, a bomb exploded behind them. On instinct, Kinney grabbed Iko and pulled her to his chest and turned around, so his back was to the explosion. Iko closed her eyes, wondering why it felt so good to be in Kinney's embrace. He released her and she felt a small pulse of disappointment. She playfully whacked his chest. "Dummy, I'm a android and androids can't get hurt physically. But thanks anyway." Kinney feigned annoyance. "Pftttt...I knew that. It was just my naturally quick reflexes that saved you. You're welcome anyway." Iko grinned back up at him. "Let's go save more lives."
