Wolflet: Safe and Sound

Scarlet sat up in bed, her forehead sweaty and hands clammy. She was breathing hard, but when she looked around she realized it was all just a dream. Wolf stirred awake slowly. "Scar, are you okay?" Scarlet sighed. "I'm okay Z. It was just a dream." Wolf squinted in the darkness of the room, not really believing her. "Do you want to talk about it?" Scarlet shrugged. "It was about my Grandmère." She paused before continuing. "And you." Wolf wrapped his arms around her. Her voice dropped down a notch. "You died Z. You died." He could see, even in the dim lighting of the room, that she was tearing up. He held her tighter. "Shhhh Scar. It's okay, I'll always be here. With you." She smiled at him softly. "I know." She pecked his cheek. "What time is it?"

Wolf feigned nonchalance. "I don't know." Scarlet looked at him suspiciously. "It looks dark, there is no light coming out from the windows." Wolf nodded. "Exactly! That is why we must go back to sleep." Scarlet looked at him dangerously. "What did you do?" Wolf dramatically put a hand to his heart. "Why would you think I would have done something?"

"Lights on." Scarlet commanded. She gasped. "Really Z? Really?" He had covered all the windows in the room, making it pitch black any time of day. "What time is it really?" Wolf looked sheepish. "10:32. You were so tired last night!" Scarlet tried to get out of his tight embrace. He held her tighter in response so that her hair was in his face. "No, lets stay in bed and cuddle." He whined, his green eyes looking at her pleadingly.

"We have to feed the animals!" She protested, pushing him off. "And we scheduled a lunch with Emilè!" Wolf grunted. "She can wait." She finally agreed, and two hours later, a concerned Emilè had knocked on their door, wondering where they were, and used the spare key they had given her to open the door, and she woke up the sleeping couple by screaming, "AWWWWWWW!! I SHIP IT SO HARD!"
