Chapter 12

A/N: Just to let you guys know to avoid confusion; speech put in these quote marks ' are said with the mind link and the speech with speech marks or inverted commas are said aloud. Just like in The Golden Truth.

(Destiny's POV)

'You have to feel the wind around you.' I urged Brittany to try again.

'I am but it's not doing anything!' she was getting really frustrated.

'Ok lets try again.' I sighed.

'Ok' she sighed dramatically.

'Close your eyes this time.' Britt did so, 'Now don't think so much but feel the still air around you.'

'Mhm.' she mumbled.

'Now as I move the wind feel the way it moves and how free it is right now.' I was letting the wind be free compared to when I'm making it do something.

'When I take full control of it can you feel how it only moves in a certain direction and doesn't flow as much as before?' I forced the wind to move to my will making it more tense - just like a human would when you try to make them move against their will.

'Yeah I do!' she exclaimed.

'Good I'll release the wind, then you try and control it; make it tense and move to your will.' I urged her on.

The wind was still flowing heavy in the afternoon air.

Brittany and I had been at this for hours and she was just getting the hang of it but little by little. Mind you though she was learning it faster than what others did because the other kids took weeks before they even controlled their element completely.

Well that's what Jessy a friend of mine told me: Jessy is an Eagle of fire and belongs to a kid at the school who's name has slipped from my mind.

The wind started to slowly shift a little and Brittany's face started to contort as she tried so hard to move the wind.

'Your thinking about it too much. Brittany this is what you were born to do. Let it come naturally to you.'

She nodded and the wind froze once more before it picked up it's pace from before and swirled around Brittany and I lifting us into the air just enough to lose contact.

I could feel the wind still had a bit of edge to it but it was spectacular for a first timer.

'Im so happy for you Britt!!' I exclaimed as she lowered us back to the ground.

'Im so happy for me too!!' she shrieked.

'That's all I can teach you if you want to learn how to fight and stuff like that you'll have to talk to a wind user at the school and see if they'll train you.' I explained.

'Oh. Well thank you so much for being so patient with me Dezz I know I was a bit slow to get it but thank you so very much!' I could hear the gratefulness in her voice as she knelt down in front of me and gave me a tight hug.

'Your welcome.' and I gave her a wolfish smile.

(Janet's POV)

"Gosh today went by slowly!" I huffed as I finally left my last class for the day.

"Yeah but only because we haven't heard from Britt yet." Lauren said sadly.

"I wonder if she's ok." I thought out loud.

"Well we're about to find out." Lauren said wincing before suddenly Brittany pounced out of the crowd shrieking with excitement. Whoa that girl has a pair of lungs!

Wind started to ruffle mine and Lauren's hair. I looked around to see no windows or doors open so what was going on.

I looked at Brittany confused only to see her smiling broadly as if she was ready to burst.

"Oh my god! Brittany your amazing!" Lauren squealed.

Wow Britt is a fast learner or she is going to be one hell of a wind user!

"I know this is so cool! Dezzy taught me how to move it and control it but I don't know how to fight with it yet. I need to find a wind user to learn that." she explain a little too fast. I think she's still a little to hyper up still.

"Britt did you have any sugar by any chance?" I asked eyeing her with a smirk.

"Maybe." she answered swaying side to side.

I looked into her mind and saw her bashing one of the vending machines trying to get a packet of Jellybabies.

Eventually the bag fell but not until she actually paid for it.

"Brittany!" I gasped in fake shock.

She and Lauren just giggled, "At least I paid for it!" she retorted playfully.

"Eventually." Lauren rolled her eyes and we all burst out laughing.

"Whoa no one likes to stick around the classrooms for long do they?" Brittany asked looking around the now deserted corridor.

"Nope!" Lauren and I Chirped at the same time.

"Afternoon ladies." a male Boise came from somewhere behind us. It was Mr Darcy our maths teacher I found out as I sorted through his mind briefly before he could notice.

"Afternoon Mr Darcy." Lauren and I chimed in turning around to revile him. He was one of the younger teachers at the school and was in his early thirties. He had chocolate brown eyes and golden brown hair and always reminded my of that werewolf guy from 'Harry Potter'. You know Remus Lupin.

"And who's this lovely young lady." he said nodding to Brittany looking at her with a smile.

"I'm Brittany Lawson, sir." she said confidently putting out a hand for him to shake.

He shook her hand firmly, "Nice to meet you Brittany. Im Mr Darcy one of the math teachers and the teacher or Lauren and Janet here and I hope to see you in my class to." he said it all while still shaking her hand. They said their goodbyes and we all walked of in our own directions.

A/N: OMG!! I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO SORRY I HAVEN'T UPLOADED IN AGES!!! I was looking at my profile seeing when I last uploaded and saw it said the 31 of July! I freaked out and started writing right away writing whatever came to mind. So I'm sorry if this chapter is short or small or what ever and seems rushed (well it sorta was but shhh don't tell) I just wanted to get something up for you all to, hopefully, enjoy.
