I jumped up from my seat and ran down the hallway to her room. I saw the doctors reviving her, making the monitor beep normally again. They saved her.

One of the doctors pulled down his mask thingy and extended an arm, "Hey, I'm Doctor Marco Samson, just call me doc." He said with a smile. I shook his hand, "I'm Cory Matthews, nice to meet you. Will she be ok?"

He walked over to the table and took off some tools. He changed them out with some new ones, "Hard to say, she's in a coma right now. We don't know when or if she'll wake up." I'm sorry a coma? A coma?! "Coma?" Was the only word I could say.

He nodded, "What's your relation to her?" I looked at her motionless body. I was on the verge of tears. "I-I'm her boyfriend." He walked over to me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "I'll leave you two alone." I gave a slight nod and he walked out.

I slowly walked towards the bed and sat in the hard plastic chair next to it. I grabbed her hand and kissed the back of it.

"Topanga, listen to me. You can't hear me, but I love you. You can't leave me. Being with you has made me a better person. So don't leave me; you can't leave me," the monitor started to beep a little faster. "No Topanga. Don't leave me! Don't you dare leave me!"

Doc ran in, "Cory, we need to do surgery. We need to do it now or she'll die." I got up and went back to the waiting room as they took her to the surgery room.

I sat down in one of the chairs and pulled my curls.

-Hours Later-

Doc came out to the waiting room, "The surgery went excellent. Visiting hours are ending so you can come back tomorrow." I nodded and left.

--

I got back to the house and let myself in. Topanga had been staying with me the entire week until I left for the trip. The bed felt empty and so did the house I wouldn't wake up to her smile and her kiss. Her pillow still smelt like her green apple shampoo. The house was dead silent, it was almost scary. I shut the light and went to sleep.

--

I woke up and thank god it was Saturday. I rolled out of bed and went downstairs to eat. I grabbed the cereal from the pantry and added milk. I trudged up the stairs and changed my clothes.

I hopped in the car and drove back to the hospital. I made my way up to her room and opened the door slowly. She was breathing heavily and her eyes were closed. Doc shook my hand and walked out. I sat next to her and smiled. I kissed her hand and her eyes fluttered open.

"Topanga?" I said holding back tears. "I thought you were on your trip." She tried to turn over but winced in pain. I laid her back down and kissed her. She kissed back and our kiss started becoming more passionate.

The door opened and I pulled away. Doc walked in and smiled, "Did I interrupt something?" He said teasingly. Both Topanga and I blushed. "It's good to see you up Topanga. If you're feeling better later, we can release you." She nodded and smiled.

He left and I kissed her cheek, "Do you want me to go get you some food from the cafeteria?" She smiled and grabbed my hand, "Can you just stay here with me for a little bit?" I smiled and nodded, "Yeah."

We fell asleep, her on the bed and me on a plastic chair. I woke up and Doc walked in and handed me the release papers.

I signed them and slowly woke Topanga, "What?" She said rubbing her eyes. "Ready to go?" She blinked hard, "I can go?" I nodded and smiled at how she acted like a child. "Yeah, you can go." She sat up slowly and kissed me on the cheek, "Thank you." I walked to the other side of the room and grabbed her bag, "For what?"  She climbed out of the bed wearing only underwear and a hospital gown. "For leaving your vacation for me. You didn't have to do that."

I nodded, "Yes I did. Go get dressed so we can get the hell out of here." She went into her private bathroom to get changed.

I pulled a ring out of my pocket. I lowered the light, made a thud noise, and went down on one knee. She came running out, "Cory are you- what's this?" I opened the ring case revealing a promise ring, "Topanga Lawrence, will you-"

Just then, Brian busts his ass in here and, wait for it, asks Topanga to junior prom. "Brian, I'm dating Cory." He looked at me then looked at Topanga, "Did he ask you to junior prom?" She shook her head. "So you have no reason to turn me down." She bit her lower lip and looked at me, "You make a good point." I was stunned, was she really gonna go to junior prom just because I didn't ask her yet? I was about to!

"Listen, Brian. I was about to ask her. I don't just casually hold a ring and go on one knee all the time. Topanga's my girlfriend and I'm taking her to junior prom." Topanga stepped in, "What if I don't want to go with you? Don't make assumptions, Cory." Brian smirked, "Ha!" Topanga looked him dead in the eyes, "Don't make assumptions, Brian."

There was a long, awkward silence. "I'm sorry." Brian peeped. She nodded and looked at me, "Cory, do you have anything to say?" I looked at the bed and back at her, "Yeah. Sorry for making you choose between your boyfriend and some guy." I grabbed my leather jacket from the hook and started to walk out. She grabbed my arm and pulled me over to the bed. She threw me on the bed and climbed on top of me.

She started to kiss me passionately, and when I say passionately, that's an understatement. Brian left, slamming the door.

I ran my hand up her back and she pulled on my tight curls.

We pulled away, "So, you going to prom with me or not?" She bit her lower lip and nodded.

We both looked into each other's eyes and smiled. "I love you." I said, "I love you more." She replied.

All's well if it ends well.
