It was finally the last day of school before summer. It felt like the butterflies in me were ready to let me free. I couldn’t wait to get home and plan for the camp. I know its not as exciting as I am but It was the first summer I’d actually be out doing something or I’d just spend the three months of fun at home doing what every gamer does. But this summer was a chance for a change. This summer was going to be different for everyone. Some wanted to travel and others planed to lose their virginity. For some it was about letting go and for others it was about the beach while my friends planned to play. I couldn’t stop thinking about this summer and all I waited for the last bell to ring.
“Xey” an unknown voice called.
To my surprise it was Zoey. The girl of my dreams and possibly everyone’s in school, she was one of the popular people around school. The one with dazzling hair and glowing skin. Although she was popular she was the sweetest of them all. She’d smile at me once in a while and I’d hide behind the book I was read or walk off like I saw a ghost. I know its stupid but then again I don’t have my game going on with the ladies. My real game is behind the computer screen.
“He..y … Zoe..y” I stammered my way through as it was my first time talking to her ever since kindergarten when she pushed me off the slide and apologised.
”I was wondering if you could help me with this math question.”
It’s pretty obvious she thinks I’m a nerd who stays home on weekend and does math. The bell rings and everyone rushes towards the door.
“I guess I don’t need your help anymore. Thanks” she smiles.
That billion dollars smile of hers is worth dying for. She walked away with hair moving like the wind and she smelled amazing. I was just happy she finally spoke to me and it was finally the time I was waiting for. I could feel it in the air, it was awesome.
”Mom! I’m home.” I shouted.
“Wow! What’s all this about?”
There were boxes all packed in the living room I couldn’t even make my way to my room.
“Its for the camp honey. Go pack your things, we’ll leave in an hour.” My mom said as she kept filling boxes with huge bottles of water.
“Do we really need all these things for camp?” My mom can be overprotective since I’m her only son and its my first time going to camp.
“Well I wouldn’t want you to get dehydrated and die.” Like I said, she’s over protective.
“Mom!” I wined.
I ran to my room, threw my bag to the corner and laid on my bed thinking about zoey, her smile, the way she puts her hair behind her ear, the sparkle in her big brown eyes and how her skin seems to be happy and the way it glows.
“XEY! Don’t forget to take your toothbrush.” Mom called out to me.
That’s when I got out and actually started packing.
“Yeah mom, I got that.”
I walked down packed with everything I needed. Atleast that’s what I think. I know my moms gonna check again.
