You think I could forget our time together?
Because I'm worried, somehow
That I will
That it will fade slowly
Into a hungry darkness
And time will diminish it still.
I know we are as different, you and me
As black is far from white
But to me you are
And will always be
The incandescence of some wandering light.
The biggest fear you have given me
Is that now you'll leave me alone
For to you I was
And will always be
The girl you held and loved, just that once
What memory now do I take from you?
From the adventure you gave to me?
For now it's your hand
Holding mine
And the feel of your lips on my cheek
Call me naive, romantic or sad
When your silence hurts me beyond mend.
For you were my first
My best and my worst
And I never ever, want this to end.
