I fell into a pool of liquid ice and fire.
My desire illuminated the darkness,
Igniting some warped guidance,
To where clouds of incandescence and light
Brightened the wandering sky.
Disorientated, I stood and let my vision free.
Only to find I was encased by a chasm of tranquility.
The jungle arched like the rolling backbone of a sleeping cat,
Moving and breathing in a lilting rhythm.
I shivered.
This place was enchanted,
I was liberated from my head to my feet
And the flashing eyes of a seven eyed monkey shimmered as they studied me.
But there... In the trees -
A noise I think.
A sound drifting through the wayward forest.
Frozen, I grasped my withered spinal chord
And shook my feckless knees.
I wonder what could it could be...
