The fight turned out to be pointless. All I got was a few broken ribs and a bruised jaw. The guy, Marquee, had a busted hand and swollen eye. We were sitting in the main office, waiting to see the principle. The office was long and wide, carpet only covering random spots. Filing cabinets lined parts of the wall. There was 3 desks for the secretaries, each were mothers of werewolves. I huffed and sat back in my chair, wincing when it strained my ribs.

“You put up a good fight, Swiftfoot. Marquee Rush.” He held his hand toward me; I looked at it then back at his face. He wore a lopsided smile. I took it and shook it once, then quickly dropped it when the security guard growled at us.

I smirked when he took a step towards us. Marquee was oblivious to what was happening. “No contact, Swiftfoot.” I smiled and sank down further in my seat. What a way to start off my senior year.

Emy-

I heard Siri calling after me when class ended. For once, I didn’t want to hear how she belonged to me, and how Amane was just messing around. She did belong to me. So that means that no one else is allowed to touch her like I do.

I was taking my anger out on the wrong person, I know. But jealousy is a bitch emotion. I always act without thinking.

I got into my psychology class and quickly sat down, regret settling over me. I shook my head; I’ll just make it up to her later. Not like she can leave me, I smiled slightly.

All of a sudden I heard “Siri Swiftfoot.” Then a loud smacking sound. I got up and followed everyone out into the hallway.

I saw this burly senior guy winding up for a punch. Siri was frozen, a large red mark covering half her face. She was gritting her teeth, hands balled into tight fists. A gasp left my mouth and her eyes met mine. I shook my head vigorously, conveying my disproval.

Right when she turned away, the guy grabbed her braid and yanked her back. She let out a massive growl and turned on him. She threw her knee up into his chest, he tried stopping the hit with his hand but a terrible crunching sound erupted instead.

I’m guessing he realized he still had a hold of her hair because he threw her into the lockers and landed a few punches on her ribs. I pushed people aside, Siri’s name already rolling off my tongue. I gasped when her hand shot out and caught his left eye. Another loud cracking sound and a strangled cry emitted from him.

People were egging on the fight. Helping either of them by yelling out random places to hit.

“Everybody, back to your classes! Swiftfoot! Rush!” one of the security guards walked calmly up to the fight, he continued yelling at them in Lakota which calmed them down. The guy threw his hands up in surrender, yet Siri got one last hit on him. A carefully placed fist landed on his left hipbone, she stunned him. He fell to his knees. “Dammit Swiftfoot!” the guard roughly grabbed Siri by her shirt and easily picked up the boy.

“Get back to your class!” a few other security guards showed up and were herding straggling students into classrooms. I was pushed into the classroom I was standing in front of; they needed to clean the hallway, blood had been spilt.

-Later-

‘I haven’t seen Siri all day. I am freaking out!’ I knew she wasn’t hurt anymore than she already was, I felt that. But not seeing her had given me a pain I never experienced before. It worried me. I walked slowly out to the parking lot, scanning it for Siri’s a sliver gallant. Just as I was looking frantically, she pulled up with the window rolled down.

“Need a ride, little girl?” she laughed as soon as she said it. I rolled my eyes, feeling the tightness slowly leave my chest.

“What happened to you today?” I got in and threw my stuff in the back. Siri huffed a bit then slowly made her way out of the crowded parking lot.

“Fighting on school grounds, just the rest of the school day off. Nothing too big.” She shrugged and drove to the small store in town. It was a valley store, so it had a few gas pumps, a general convience store and a mini market of sorts.

“Want something to drink? Eat? I’m not taking you home yet.” She grabbed my hand and squeezed it then got out. I followed her in. she roamed the aisles, looking at all the food and snacks. I ended up getting a soda and two bags of chips. I waited for Siri at the register. She came back with an arm full of snacks and at least 4 sodas.

I laughed; “Eating for two?” the guy at the register also laughed, but rang it up without a comment. He must’ve been used to the wolves come through and buy a lot. Their big appetites never ceased to amaze me.

We left the store with 3 bags filled with our snacks. “You better not eat my chips or drink my soda.” I warned her as we got in the car. She rolled her eyes, yet kissed me on the cheek when I settled down.

“I don’t like jalapeño chips.” She held my hand as she drove.

She took us to a small forgotten park and got out. It was our park, basically. Nobody came here but us. I sat on an old log, watching Siri stretch in the sunlight. She had her shirt off and her shorts unbutton. She was half-shifting. Her ears grew pointed and long, eyes more wide, fingernails longer, and small tufts of hair coming out of her shorts. I envied her.

“Babe, care to go for a swim?” she walked over to me and leaned down to my level. Her lips captured mine and her fingers delicately trailed along my chin. The soft kiss turned passionate and heated, until Siri picked me up and wrapped my legs around her waist. Tangling my fingers in her hair I pulled away and softly sighed. We couldn’t do this. We swore to wait until we told our parents. The farthest we’ve ever gone was when I first bit her.

“Stop whatever your thinking and lets swim.” She set me down and tugged me along. “Babe shake a leg.”  I was zoned out; I shook my head of all dizziness and let her pull me to the river that was close by. Hopefully by being in water, our scents on each other will be washed away.
