Storm's POV

A small beam of light reached through the cracks of the blinds. I opened my eyes due to the small beams reaching my face. I stretched my feet and looked around only to notice I was not in my bedroom. I knit my eyebrows together and looked around with curious eyes, only to be rewarded with memory's of last night. I smirked at the thought of Nick having a soft side.
I turned to my stomach to put my face in my pillow taking in the scent of fish and mints. I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, failing I turned around and got up slowly. I walked into the kitchen listening to the soft rhythm of the waves and snoring of Nick. I looked in the cupboard to find a box of frosted flakes. I pumped my fist, I love frosted flakes. And ice cream I really like ice cream. I grabbed a spoon and started to eat my dry cereal, there is no milk in the fridge, I checked. I listened to the crunch of the dry cereal and the soft sounds around me. My hair smells of the ocean. I looked around the small kitchen and sniffed the air. Nicks scent has gotten stronger, he is awake.
He shuffled his feet along the floor to the kitchen and gave me a small smile, which I returned and went back to eating cereal. Nick made himself a bowl of dry frosted flakes and cursed when he found he had no milk. I smirked at his frustration, it was kind of cute. I snapped myself out of my thoughts when I reminded myself of the monster that I could create. I shivered at the thought. "Mornin' sunshine" Nick greeted as I got up from my chair and put the bowl in the sink. "Hi, I am going back to bed" I commented. It was only 6:00 in the morning so I planned to sleep a little longer since my stomach is full. I paced down the hall and sat on the bed and pulled the comforter up to my chin and closed my eyes. I felt the bed shift beside me and my eyes shot open and I shot up from the bed. My feet were on the ground in a rush and I turned to face the presence with my eyes, only to see Nick. "What were you thinking?" I cringed "You could have given me a heart attack you big fat bellied pig!". Nick smirked "Can't I just lay down on MY bed?". I gave him a death glare and walked towards the front door of the house. I was angry, he thought he could lay with me that jerk. "You think you have some sort of right over me? Well Mr. Alpha you have another thing coming. Goodbye and good riddance!" I yelled at him making sure to make a huge scene of leaving.
I tuned his try's to keep me from leaving out and walked out the door. I felt his hand on my shoulder and I froze welcoming the last feeling I would feel of him. "Goodbye Alpha. Hope you can find a second chance mate." I whispered shivering at the thought of him being with another woman. "Don't go please. I need you." He begged trying to grab my wrist. I dodged his attempt and ran to my house. I listened to his small whimpers while I ran away. I knew he would try to follow me, so I would take the only way he couldn't find me, by sea. I opened the window to my bedroom to get my things. I grabbed my cell phone and a specially designed case for it so it can't get wet. It was made for fin folk like me. I grabbed all of my swimsuits and a couple of beach tops and left my room through the window. I dived into the water holding on tight to my possessions and shifted in mid-jump. In the middle of my toes webbing grew and my skin melted to form light pink, green, and blue scales to match my eyes. My hair grew pearls and dyed itself as I swam though the water as fast as I could.
Bubbles surrounded my body as I
swam. I dodged small and large schools of fish. Beautiful colors flashed before me as I passed coral reefs. A small voice came to my head 'Please come back' it whispered with sadness, I then noticed it was Nick. It took all of my willpower to keep going instead of turning back and comforting him.
'I am sorry but I can't.' I replied and blocked him out of my head. I swam until I saw human territory. This will be the forth time I have been on human territory in my life. The first two were because of a hurricane and the third was because I went to Florida with Ada. God I will miss that girl, even if she does have fish breath.
I opened my link back up, only to be trampled by voices 'Are you ok?' 'Where are you?' 'Come back!' ' Can you get me toothpaste?' Ok I have no idea who came up with the last one. 'Ok let me try to answer these. I have no clue. No I am not coming back. And I am not getting you toothpaste Ada.' I linked deciding the mystery voice was my best friend, sometimes she doesn't know how to stop joking around. Before they could trample me with more questions I closed my link again. I looked around at my surroundings. Light green water surrounded me and I was so far out that no coral reefs were around me. Silver fish swam by me and turtles. Bubbles flew by my tail and I turned to see a dolphin and a merman holding its fin. The boy looked about 18. He has green eyes and a matching tail. He was pretty cute, but nobody will ever be as cute as Nick to me, I let myself think that because we are far from each other now. With his hand he gestured toward the surface and I nodded and flapped my scaly fin. "Why are you on my territory?" The boy asked. "I'm sorry I didn't know this was your territory I will go now!" I squeaked while blushing at my high pitched voice. The boy chuckled at my tone "It's fine but why are you here...". "Storm, and I just have been having some.... problems" I explained. "Ok" he replied lifting an eyebrow " I am Adam". I smiled and shook his hand "Nice to meet you Adam," "Back at you Storm".
He motioned for me to follow and I listened to his order. We swam towards a small beach in silence. He looked at me and said "We are going to sit on the beach a while so we can dry off and shift back" I smirked "I don't need to do that" I commanded my tail to shift into human legs and feet. Adam watched with amazed eyes as I changed my appearance. When I was done I walked onto shore and listened to Adams rambling about how awesome I am, because I roll like that.
***Later On***
I walked into the small cabin that was placed by the beach. The cabin was made of wood. Inside was a small red brick fireplace. A brown couch had holes and stuffing coming out of it. Nothing else was in the living room exempt the couch and stairs behind it. "I know it's not much but it's something..." He explained. I nodded and asked "It's fine do you have a bathroom?". "Yeah, the second door to the left upstairs" he replied. "Thanks I'm going to take a shower. But do you have any clothes I can borrow?" I questioned. Adam nodded and went upstairs to get my clothes.
After my shower I put on Adams t-shirt and his shorts I laid down on the couch in the living room..I opened my mind link. Of course my family wasn't awake it is midnight anyways. I listened to the thoughts of the fish in the sea. I moved my iPod and bikinis onto the hardwood floor. 'Storm?' A small voice asked. 'Mohawk?' I linked back to the small fish. 'Yeah, where have you been?' Mohawk asked, 'I don't know really. But I promise I will see you soon ok?' 'Ok I have to go, I found a shark' Mohawk cursed and cut our link.
'Storm can I speak to you?' Someone questioned me after a few minutes. I recognize that heavenly voice anywhere Nick. 'What?' I snapped at him. 'Please come back' he whimpered. 'I'm sorry, but I can't ok?' I growled at him. 'Please?' He begged 'No' I roared and shut my link.
I hated doing that to my mate but I had to, I can never go back. I need to be sure I have no hybrid children, no matter what. Closed my eyes and fell asleep into a dreamless sleep.
