tyler woke up groggy and exhausted. same as everyday. but today, tyler felt something different. some new excitement for the day. he wasn't quite sure why he felt that way, he knew it couldn't be josh because tyler simply refused to get excited over people anymore.

at the thought of josh, tyler's heart raced. okay, maybe he was excited to possibly see josh today. but why? josh was no different than anyone else at school. but maybe he was, there was something about him that just captivated tyler's attention.

tyler pondered of this great ordeal as he got dressed. he had been on an organizing spree recently and counted all the days left of school. from today, there were only 74 days left.

those past days had so far been going by quickly as the teachers have been realizing they should actually teach. this ends up with excess work and excess stress for everyone. but he had already done 106 days of school so he felt hopeful with getting through the next semester.

tyler examined his clothes in the mirror. today was definitely a lazier and more casual day so he just wore a random shirt and jeans. when he got down the stairs, he threw a hoodie on and grabbed a pack of gummies for breakfast. he was never really hungry in the morning so the nemo gummies were great.

it was lunch time and tyler sat in his usual seat with jenna. he pulled out his cheezits and his phone and began his daily twitter lurking.

"oh tyler," jenna suddenly said a moment after she sat down. tyler looked up at her expectantly, a little annoyed that she interrupted his phone time. "josh is sitting with us, he's really funny and he's kind of cute so i invited him to eat lunch with us."

tyler's face twisted in disgust at her use of cute. josh was definitely not cute. tyler refused to think he was any bit attractive so he could shake off the feelings he already felt coming.

"okay," tyler mumbled before returning to his phone. right on cue, josh sat at the table.

"hey josh," jenna greeted cheerfully. josh said hi back and began to eat his piece of pizza. tyler peeked up from his phone and examined josh. he decided at that moment that maybe jenna was right and maybe josh was cute. but thats as far as tyler would let this go.

the rest of the lunch consisted of small talk between jenna and josh while tyler silently checked on his cats in neko atsume.

tyler's last two classes went by quickly and he was soon released from the prison of restricted and forced education. at home, he finished his homework quickly and texted jenna.

jenna✨: prolly lol

tyler set his phone down in frustration. he shouldn't be upset about jenna liking josh, but he was. just the possibility of them dating annoyed tyler, what would he do if it actually happened?

before tyler's inevitable crying started, he decided to calm down by getting chocolate milk. he left his warm room and was hit by the smell of weed. tyler's nose immediately scrunched and he walked quickly past his brother's room to avoid the smell. he didn't know when both of his brothers started the illegal habit, but since then, there was rarely a day when they didn't do it.

when tyler entered the kitchen, he walked over to the fridge and saw that the milk was gone. he huffed in annoyance and looked around for something else to drink. after a couple of minutes, tyler decided on apple juice because apple juice is amazing.

after getting his drink, tyler went to the living room to see what his parents were doing.

"where's mom," tyler asked his dad, noticing the empty space on the couch as he stood in the doorway.

"out," his dad replied before taking another drink of beer. tyler felt the tension in the room and decided it was best to leave. he rushed back upstairs and saw a few texts from jenna.

jenna✨: OH RIGHT I FORGOT THATS AN OPTION OK BRB GONNA GROW SOME OVARIES AND ASK HIM

tyler rolled his eyes at the screen and plopped onto his bed. at least he was trying to be supportive. tyler really just wanted jenna to be happy, but was it okay if her happiness was at the expense of his? tyler's phone vibrated and he grabbed it, opening up the text from jenna.

jenna✨: HOLYFIDIVKD SHIRSHY IN SCRAmiNGC RN HE SAID YESI AM GOUNG TO THE MOVIES WITH HIM ON SUNDAYFAUS YEAAS

jenna✨: WAIT AWAYWUIR SUNDAY IS VALENTINES DAY ONGIDIFIC J CANT BRSATH THIS IS TOO AMAZIBG

tyjo🌚: damn son chill

jenna✨: wow u sure r salty today well anyway its friday which means i have to go to the weekly dinner with my church so bye ily

tyler turned off his phone and plugged it in before burrowing under his blankets. there was a pressure in his chest that he couldn't explain and it was making him sad. he didn't want to feel sad because he hadn't cried at all today and he wanted to keep that going.

but as tyler kept on thinking about how quick jenna got into a relationship and how tyler had never even been in one, he started to wonder if love was really for him. and the deeper into those thoughts he got, the more he realized that he'd probably be alone forever. so tyler cried himself to sleep that night and broke his time for not crying.

also, tyler is in 11th grade, madison is in 9th, jay is in 12th, and zack is graduated in this.
