Chapter 9: Space and Time

Yusei walked up to his room to go check on Luna and Jaden. When he entered, Luna was asleep on the bed and Jaden was just watching her. Yusei made a gesture for Jaden to come with him and Jaden got up quietly and did as he was instructed. Jaden and Yusei walked downstairs where Jack was sitting on the couch reading a newspaper. Jaden smiled,

"I didn't know anyone was still up"

Yusei frowned at Jaden,

"We have been up for awhile Jaden"

Jack quinted at Jaden,

"We have been talking about you and Luna"

Jaden frowned,

"What about us?"

Yusei gave Jaden a stern stare,

" Jaden, are you and Luna dating?"

Jaden's eyes widened,

"How did you know that?!"

Jack stood up and crossed his arms,

"We had assumed that since you guys and been up there for awhile and the way you two look at each other."

Jaden was shocked and for once he didn't know what to say. So Yusei spoke for him,

"Listen Jaden, even if you love her this can't work out"

Jaden frowned,

"Why?"

Yusei shook his head,

"Because doing this could practically break the fabric of time and space"

Jaden looked at him shocked,

"How?"

Yusei sighed,

"Well if you stayed here then your timeline would crumble without you. Same thing happens if Luna was to go with you."

Jaden's anger flared a bit,

"you can't just tell me what to do Yusei, I love Luna and I'll do whatever it takes to see her and that's that!"

While Jaden was raising his voice a dark energy began to fill the room and Yusei and Jack could feel it very clearly.

"Jaden, what 's going on?"

Jaden looked at Yusei with a sudden look of fear in his eyes,

"Yusei....he's here"

"Who's here Jaden?"

Jaden looked around quickly,

"Look Yusei I'll explain later, but whatever you do don't let him get to Luna!"

The lights flickered and the dark energy surrounded Jaden. He grabbed his head and began muttering things to himself, but then Jaden closed his eyes and screamed. Jaden opened his eyes and instead of his normal chocolate brown, there were yellow ones, Jaden smiled evilly and when he spoke his voice was a bit lower than usual,

"This is going to be fun"

Something told Jack and Yusei that this was going to be a very bad rest of the night.
