I was banished. A Witch stripped of her title, and her magic. The world around me was a giant blur of people and trolleys as I ran from the Covens house to my own. I threw open our front door and flew up the stairs to my room. Breathing hard, I flop onto my bed, arms and legs dangling off of both sides. My youngest sister Leland comes into my room. She walks over to my face that is also hanging off the bed. She reached her chubby hand out to grab a strand of my colorless hair. Her eyes flashed a bright pink as her telepathic magic projected pretty into my mind. Leland continued to work the hair between her fingers. I reached out for her hand, a smile appeared on her face when our fingers touched.

I reached out with my other hand, the one with the snake around it, and tried a simple levitation spell. Cleaned my mind of any excess thoughts, calmed my breath. And nothing. Absolutely nothing happened. Leland's voice was back in my thoughts, I'm sorry they took your powers.

"It is okay little one," I said aloud. She gives me a small smile. Her eyes flashed pink again. I hear mom downstairs.

I sat up on my bed and pulled Leland up next to me. Mom's heels clicked as she walked up the wooden staircase. I felt my chest tighten, suddenly afraid of seeing my mother. My door swung open with maximum force, slamming against the wall behind it.

She took one look at the bracelet on my arm and narrowed her eyes. "God Lucinda, why didn't you listen? I am ashamed to even look at you. My own daughter caught practicing Black Magic. My OWN daughter." She shook her head furiously. "You are no longer welcome here. You have two hours to pack your things and leave." With that she turned and walked out. "Oh, and stay away from your sisters."

Leland hopped off the bed, tears had formed in her eyes. I'm sorry, I love you Luce. My pulse raced and so did my thoughts. My mother all but disowned me. What the hell. Where will I go? How will I eat? I have no money. I grabbed my suitcase from the top of the closet and numbly packed.

When all my drawers were emptied as well as my closet I made my way downstairs. Standing at the bottom of the staircase was a young man who looked to be only a couple years older than I. His looks were strikingly familiar. He stood around six foot with striking blue eyes, so beautiful that they seemed unreal.

"This is Sebastian, Nicklaus's son." My mother announced. Ah, that's who he looks like. His eyes lit up as he caught a glimpse of me.

"My lady, Lucinda. You may call me Bastian. I am to be your companion in your travels to the great northern state. And unlike my father, I will be decent company." Bastian let out a low and throaty chuckle. I couldn't help but smile at the remark about his father.

"Hello Bastian, it is nice to meet you." I said. He grabbed my bags from my hands and opened the door for me. I paused and looked back at my mom. "Goodbye Mother."

Sebastian and I then walk down the pale concrete stairs to the sidewalk. A sleek black car sits on the side of the road. Bastian must have noticed my eyes light up at the sight of the car.

"She's beautiful isn't she?" He asked. Parked in the road was a classic Dodge Challenger in perfect condition. It was a sparkly black with two racing stripes.

"She is," I said to Bastian. "Might I ask where we are going?"

"Sylvia didn't tell you?"

"Nope, she doesn't speak to outcasts I guess. Even one that is her own daughter."

"Oh," His voice sounded sad. "Well, then this may come to you as a shock."

"Come on, how bad can it be?" I asked.

"True. Anyways, we're going to the Great Lake state. To meet your father."

"Wait what?" Pure confusion and awe filled my mind.

"Yeah," Bash scratched the back of his head after putting my bags in the trunk. "I guess that was the best your mom could do. She wanted you to be taken care of."

"Didn't seem that way a second ago..." I mumbled.

"Why do you think I'm here?" He grinned at me.

"Alright pretty boy, let's go then." We both got into the car. The engine started up smoothly. As we drove away I couldn't help but feel like I was leaving my whole life behind. Leaving Ethan behind.
