I slumped down against the wall, holding my head in my hands. To think, that I actually mattered to him. That was it, I'm done caring. He can be with who ever he wants. I felt a tear slip from my eye. I angrily wiped it away with my sleeve. FUCKING seriously, I thought.
"Hey, you okay?" I heard a voice come from the stall next to me.
"Yeah.." My voice cracked. "No..."
I saw red hair dangle down under the stall, followed by my little Strawberry. "What happened?" She asked.
"Well, honestly it's really dumb." I said sighing.
"Everything is dumb here," Lilith said laughing. "That's why I hang out in the bathroom during lunch!"
"Well, Sebastian started making out with one of the girls who follows him around. Right in front of me." I sighed.
Her face turned a bright red. She came out of her stall and slid into mine. She hugged me, putting my face on her delicate chest while she pet my hair.
"I see the way he looks at you Luce. It's as if you are something to eat."
I laugh, thinking about how right she was. Maybe that was all I am to him, a source of food. Strawberry and I sat like this until the bell rang. She stood up abruptly, banging her arm on the toilet paper dispenser.
"I would love to stay and chat, but I have never missed a class in my four years of high school and I don't plan on starting now." She dashes from the bathroom.
I on the other hand could care less about class. I am not here to get perfect grades, and I'm for sure not trying to get into college. The bathroom is empty and silent once more. I decide it's time to try my new found powers.
Elan taught me of this so called "spirit walking" which was like an O.B.E. (an out of body experience.)
I leaned back up against the bathroom wall, placing my hands flat on the ground. I breathed in deeply counting one, two, three. I then exhaled trying to slow my heart. Breathe in, breathe out. Simple as that. My mind was full of images of Bastian. His pale face, and striking blue eyes. His small perfectly white teeth. Everything about him drew me in.
Before I knew it I was standing over my own body. I could see myself peacefully asleep. I sat down cross legged and played with my own purple hair. Finally able to see myself asleep for the first time, I realized that I snore. I laughed out loud and then instantly threw my hand to my mouth.
"Oh yeah no one can hear me," I said out loud.
Slipping out underneath the stall I made my way into the hallway. I decided to make the most of my adventure. I mean it was Halloween! Time for some pranks! I made my way down the long hallway to Mrs. Karmen's room where Bastian should be.
Mrs. Karmen stood at the front of the room and leaned up against a podium. I saw Bastian in the front row, his hand moved swiftly across his paper as he took notes. I noticed my little Strawberry in the back of the class, her head fixed over her work. Mrs. Karmen droned on about logarithms and other boring crap.
"So children, what is the typical base of a natural logarithm?" Mrs. Karmen asked. "Anyone?"
I saw several students raise their hands. I noticed Lilith still has her head bent over her paper. Mrs. Karmen eyed her, deciding that this would be her next victim. "Lilith how about you?"
I chose that exact moment to pick up one of the pieces of chalk from the board behind Karmen.
Strawberry popped her head up, her eyes widen in shock. Her mouth opened, but no words came out. And then she looked right at me. It's as if she could see me. No way I thought. I wrote my message on the board as everyone focused on my little Red stumbling over her words.
"Um, Mrs. Karmen..." A student trailed off, pointing at the board.
She turned around to see my lovely handy work. You are all going to Hell, my inscription read. "Alright now, who the hell did that?" She asked suddenly furious.
I danced around the teacher and made my way out of the room, but not before catching a glimpse of Strawberry shaking her head at me. I decided that it was time to go back to my body. Walking into the bathroom I noticed that everything was the same. I slipped back into my skin and woke up on the floor.
"That was fun," I said exhaling loudly.
