*Luce's perspective*

Sebastian and I exited the bathroom, our hair slightly mused. A look of shame crossed his face as he used my hair to cover my neck. I gave him a weak smile and headed back towards the living room.

"Ah children, come, sit." Elan said. Bastian and I sat down on the couch where I was previously laying down. Luke stared at us with a sad look on his face.

"So how did you meet my mother?" I asked.

"Well, Lucinda, I met your mother a long time ago." Elan began. "But to truly understand our connection we would have to go back many years." He leaned forward and braced his arms on his knees. "There was a time many years ago, when magic had first begun to turn dark. See, your mother and I are actually quite old." Elan let out a chuckle.

"How old are you exactly?" I asked.

"Over 500 years old." Elan stated. "See our people had found the key to long life, way before there were ever Vampires. Your mother and I had been living in Minnesota, we would have only been 14 at the time. My tribe, and her people, had just began to settle in that area. There had been rumors of flesh eating people, claiming that it had brought back their youth. My father, the great Indian Chief, and her mother who was the head of the Coven, had joined forces to eradicate these so called Skin Eaters."

He paused to take a breath.

"On the night that our parents went out to kill these abominations, things went horribly wrong. Somehow they had found out that our parents had been coming for them so they retaliated. They had used your grandparents magic against themselves."

"So that night the skin eaters absorbed your grandfather's magic and became what we know as Wendigo's. They are horrible creatures cursed by only being able to survive on human flesh. They would eat and eat but never truly be full."

"Holy hell," Luke whispered, his mind blown. "That crap is real? I only thought Grandpa told us those stories to scare us?!"

"No child they are real." Elan said patting Luke on the head. "Everything you have ever heard by the elders, they are true. So for the many years to come Sylvia and I spent our lives cleansing the world of evil magic users."

"So like the great purge?" I asked.

"Yes, Luce, exactly. I was part of that as was your mother and her sister."

"Okay, I'm still not sure why I, I mean we, were sent here." I said, slightly confused.

"Well, Luce, your mother sent me a message right before Sebastian arrived here with you."

"And?" Sebastian inquired.

"She really does care about you Luce. She sent you here to go to school...and to learn the ways of our people. Even though you do not have your Druid magic, the magic of my tribe resides within you."

"How come I never knew about this?" I asked.

"Because the elders would have grown weary of your power." Elan said, his eyes full of worry.

"My power?"

"Yes, you posses some of the strongest power in all of history."
