Say Goodbye (A Chris Brown Love Story)

Chapter Nine

In the office, I got a first aid kit from the nurse and Hayden helped me tend to Chris's bruises and scratches.

"Ow!" He whined.

"Stop flinching." Hayden said.

"It hurts, I can't help it."

"Oh, you poor baby." I kissed his cheek. "Thank you." I said softly.

"For what?" He looked up at me.

"You saved me from Jason."

"He was hurting you."

"I know, that's why I was thanking you."

"But I-"

"Oh hush." Hayden snapped. "I swear, you guys are like a old couple." That made him laugh. The principal walked out and looked from Jason to us and then to Jason again.

"Oh Jason, no one wanted to nurse you, did they?" He said. All three of us snickered at his comment.

"Mariah, may I speak with you first, I was told that well, you were in the middle of it." Principal Mason said to me.

"Yes sir." I followed him to the back and sat down in one of the chairs while he sat at his desk.

"Now tell me what happened?" He looked at me.

"Jason walked over and started messing with me and he slammed me against the lockers. Chris is my boyfriend, and he saw what Jason did so he was telling Jason to leave me alone and then when Chris got close, Jason shoved him. Chris has a bit of a temper so that set him off and he attacked Jason. The teacher tried to break them apart but me and my friend Hayden ended up pulling them apart. That's all."

"Hmm, okay. Thank you, that's all I need. Send Jason in on your way out."

"Okay." I walked out his office and looked at Jason.

"Your turn." I stated. Jason stepped in front of me and Chris immediately jumped up, getting in between us.

"Hands off." He growled at him. Jason glared at us and went into the principal's office.

"I swear, that guy gets on my nerves." Chris said, sitting back down.

"How much trouble do you think he'll get in?" Hayden asks me.

"Well Jason, since he started it, probably suspension and Chris, probably like a week of detention." I answered.

"Why was he messing with you anyway?" Chris said to me.

"He was asking me out on a date. He knew that I use to have a crush on him."

"Y-you did?"

"Yes, but it's long gone, okay? You're the only one I want." I sat in his lap and hugged him. Jason suddenly came stomping out the office, Principal Mason right behind him.

"Chris, you're next." He said. I got off his lap and he got up, walking into the office.

"You ready for Christmas tomorrow?" Hayden asked me.

"Not really. It's not like I'm getting anything. But I'm happy I get to spend it with Chris and Daniella."

"It sucks we had to stay in school until Christmas."

"Blame the weather days. We had to make up for it somehow. But don't worry, we don't have to come back until January 6th."

"I know, but still." She pouted. Chris came out the office and walked over to me, putting his lips to my ear.

"Both me and Jason are being sent home for today but when I come back, I have detention for a week. I think he got suspended."

"Well at least you only got detention. So I guess you're heading home?" We all walked out the office together.

"Yeah, but I'll come pick you up." I started pouting and he pulled me into his arms.

"Don't be like that, you'll see me after school."

"But I have to suffer 6 more hours of hell before I do." He laughed and leaned down to where his nose was touching mine.

"It'll be over before you know it." He pressed his lips to mine, giving me a long, sweet kiss.

"I hope so." I whispered, pulling away. He kissed my forehead and hugged me before walking away, leaving me with Hayden.

"Awe, now you look all sad." She says.

"I am." She linked her arm through mine and dragged me to class.

I was so bored without Chris even though Hayden kept trying to cheer me up. I felt like the day was taking forever to go by and finally when the last bell rung, I bolted out the room.

"Mariah!" I heard Hayden call. She ran after me as I ran outside and I suddenly felt someone grab me, covering my mouth with their hand.

"Jason! Let her go!" Hayden shouted. Jason had me?! He dragged me to this black SUV and literally threw me inside, jumping in after me. I looked out the window and saw Hayden standing at a white mustang, pointing towards me. That had to be Chris! I tried to open the door until whoever was driving suddenly hit the accelerator, causing me to fall and bang my head which knocked me out immediately.

Chris's POV

I had just pulled up when I saw Mariah running out the school. I was about to get out when I saw someone grab her and yank her in the other direction. Hayden ran up to me, breathing hard.

"Chris! Jason just got Mariah, he put her in that black SUV over there." She pointed.

"Get in." I ordered. She ran around and got in, buckling up. The SUV peeled out of the parking lot and I sped off after them, following it.

"What the hell does he want with Mariah?" I said angrily.

"I don't know." Hayden answered. "He's probably pissed at the fact that he's suspended. And to get back at you, he takes her." The car finally turned off onto a lone road and we went right after them, never losing sight of them. I swear, if he hurts her...

"Chris, stop the car!" Hayden screamed and I slammed my foot on the breaks. "They're getting out the car." She started to get out and I reached over into the glove compartment, getting my gun out. Rodrick made me get one for safety purposes. This was a safety purpose, right?

I saw Jason carrying a motionless Mariah over his shoulder down the slope into the woods.

"You have a gun?!" Hayden whispered loudly.

"For safety purposes, now stay behind me." We followed them down and tried not to make a sound as we walked through the woods. He looked like he was going somewhere specific but I was worried about why Mariah was knocked out. Did he hurt her?

I suddenly saw her shift and hoped that she was waking up. It'd be easier to get her back if she helped out a little.

"Chris, she's waking up." Hayden whispered softly. I nodded and we creeped closer. Mariah moved around and rubbed her eyes.

"What the...Jason! Put me down!" She yelled.

"Oh, shut up." He snapped.

"You better put me...." She trailed off when she looked up and saw me. I put a finger to my lips, signaling for her to keep quiet. She nodded and looked back at Jason.

"Jason, why are you doing this? Where are you taking me?" She asked him.

"It's your stupid boyfriends fault that I'm suspended and my parents are gonna kill me. So he's gonna suffer. I'm going to-" Hayden stepped on a stick, snapping it clean in half causing a popping noise to echo. Jason spun around, staring at me and I pointed the gun at him, my finger lingering on the trigger...
