*2 Weeks Later*

For some reason, I had stopped taking to Mariah. Except for the time when she gave me this cute teddy bear for me to give to Daniella. She said it was her old one that she had told Daniella about and when I took it home to her, she was more than happy but then she said something that let me know she did value some things. She said that she was happy Mariah had been thinking about her.

Mariah looked really down lately but I didn't ask her what's wrong. I had nothing to do with her, I helped her out then she was gone out of my life. But then on one Friday afternoon, everything changed.

I was at home with Daniella, I had worked yesterday and business was kinda slow so Rodrick gave me the weekend off. But then I heard a car door slam then the doorbell rung and Daniella ran to the door.

"Mimi!" She squealed when she opened the door. She let Mariah walk in before she threw her arms up, making Mariah pick her up. She swung Daniella around and hugged her. Dani had a huge smile on her face.

"What brings you by?" I ask, standing up.

"I just thought I'd come visit, I knew Dani missed me, isn't that right?" She said.

"Yeah!" She tightened her arms around Mariah's neck. She walked pass me to the couch and just before I closed the door, I glanced at her car and saw what looked like moving boxes. Was she moving?

"We should do something fun, shouldn't we?" Mariah says to Dani.

"Yeah! I keep asking Chrissy can we go out but usually he takes me to the park."

"Have you ever been bowling?"

"Oh boy! That sounds like fun!" She started jumping around. I liked seeing her happy like that. It just...just made me happy I guess.

"Mariah, if you don't mind me asking, why is all that stuff in your car?" I asked. Her expression flipped completely and she looked sad. "Dani, go upstairs." I stated.

"But I wanna-"

"Now." I ordered. She pouted and slumped upstairs. I sat down on the couch next to Mariah.

"I-I just don't have anywhere to put it yet." She says softly.

"Is it trash?" I ask.

"No, it's my stuff. M-my mom kicked me out the second I turned 18."

"Which was..."

"12am on December 9th."

"Mariah, that was almost over 2 weeks ago." She just nodded. "And where have you been staying?" I don't even know why I was questioning her like this...or maybe it was because I cared about her.

"In my car." She whispered, beginning to cry. She leaned on me as she cried. "I don't know what to do, Chris. I have no money and now no home." I just hugged her and let her cry. I had never hugged anyone but Dani but I would make an exception for Mariah. She needed it.

"She can stay here!" I heard Dani yell from the top of the stairs. I looked up to see her running down the steps.

"Really! The room next to mine is empty and you know it."

"Daniella-"

"Chrissy! Please?" She started pouting. "Don't make her go. You're never here with me anyway." She crossed her arms as my mouth dropped. "You leave me at that stupid daycare while you're at school and then I'm here by myself while you're at work! We never get to spend time together unless Rodrick gives you days off! But she can be here with me! I hate being here by myself! I'm all alone! Nothing to do! Whenever it storms and the lights go out, I have to sit there and be scared until you get back!" Had she been holding all of this in this whole time?!
