"Hayden, what the hell?!" I shoved her away, wiping my mouth on the arm of my sleeve. "The hell is wrong with you?! I'm dating Mariah! And she's your best friend!"

"But Chris, you're so cute and-"

"Get out my car!" I yelled, startling her. She got out and I reached over and slammed the door, peeling off and making a u-turn as I headed back home. I glanced in the rear view mirror and saw Hayden standing at the curb like I had left her. Why would she go and do something like that?! Is she crazy?! Should I tell Mariah? It would be the right thing to do, right? But I don't want to ruin their friendship.

I got home quickly and sat in the car for a minute, taking a breather. What would Mariah say if I told her? I don't think I've ever seen her mad before, she's always her sweet happy go lucky self. I don't want to upset her. Maybe I should keep to myself so I won't upset her.

"Chrissy!" I looked up and saw Dani standing at the top of the stairs, covered in flour. "Stop sitting in the car, silly! Come on, we're baking cookies." She ran back inside. I sighed and got out, walking back in the house. Mariah and Dani were in the kitchen, making a mess. Mariah was literally covered in flour just like Dani.

"Did something blow up in here?" I asked, walking in and taking off my leather jacket.

"Well we have ready-to-bake cookies but Dani has never made cookies from scratch so, we were gonna try to make them from scratch." Mariah answered. "Lotta flour." I shook my head and walked up to her, taking her in my arms. She started putting the flour on me and a flour war broke out between us.

"I got him! I got him!" Dani yelled, giggling.

"Run Dani!" Mariah ran past her as I came after them with flour.

"You can't run from me!" I shouted, picking Dani up and swinging her around. She started screaming and giggling. I let her go and she took off running as Mariah came up behind me and wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm not cleaning all of this up." She said as I turned around to hug her properly.

"You're right, you're only cleaning up part of it." I replied.

"Pfft, come here." She wrapped her arms around my neck and pulled me down to kiss me. I thought about Hayden for a second and I wanted to tell Mariah, but now wasn't the right time. Plus, she kisses WAY better than Hayden even though I shouldn't make that assumption since Hayden didn't kiss me but for a second cause I had pushed her away so fast.

She pulled away and smiled at me before suddenly shoving flour in my face.

"Gotcha!" She ran off as fast as she could.

"Don't worry, payback is a bitch." I said, rubbing the flour from my face.

"What's a bitch?" Dani asked, scaring the crap out of me.

"Dani, don't say that, it's a bad word." I said.

"But you said it."

"I shouldn't have, don't ever say it."

"Chrissy said a bad word!" Mariah sang as she came back in the kitchen. "You owe a dollar to the swear jar!"

"A swear jar?" Dani said. "My friend Emily said they have one at home cause her brother says bad words a lot."

"We need a swear jar to for when Chris says bad words." I glare at Mariah and she gives me that cute smile.

"Lets get this mess cleaned up." I said, picking up the broom.

It took a while but we got the kitchen cleaned up and Mariah helped Dani put the ready-to-bake cookies in the oven. Dani was so excited for Christmas, I loved seeing her like this.
