A Surprise Part Two

Asami
Korra was looking out at the bay. She didn't look nervous, but she was showing it. She was fidgeting a lot. She turned to me and said

"Do you want to take a walk in the park? There wouldn't be a lot of people." I was a bit confused why she was asking me right now, but I decided to humor her.

"Sure." I said. "It might help me clear my head." "Actually," I thought, "it would be the perfect place for me to propose to Korra." We went back inside, and exited from the front of the building. One of the best things about our apartment, apart from the fact that we have a balcony over the bay, is that it's right in front of Avatar Korra Park. Korra and I walked over there, just holding hands.

Korra
I think Asami knew what was going on. She definitely suspected something. But she was also hiding something. I know when she is and she's really bad at keeping it from me. But she hadn't said anything yet.

"Wait here." I said, and ran ahead. I found a small place that would work, and earthbent a small platform up. Then I quickly ran back to Asami.

"Okay, I'm ready. Just one more thing." I told her. "Do you trust me?"

"Of course, Korra." she replied, looking very perplexed.

"Then let me do this." I pulled out a small bandanna and tied it around her eyes. "Now I'm going to lead you somewhere."

"Okay." she replied.

I led her up to and onto the platform I had made. Then I removed the bandanna.

Asami
Korra removed the blindfold.

"Asami, I-" Korra begins, but I cut her off.

"Shh. Let me talk." I said.

"But-"

"Korra, we've been together for a long time. Three years, in fact. I know I'm ready for the next step and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Avatar Korra, will you-"

Korra
"-marry me?" We say at the same time. Then it gets really confusing.

"So should I be standing, or you?" she asks, starting to laugh.

"I don't know. How about you stand, then I will." I reply, also starting to laugh. Then Asami stands.

"So, um, Asami Sato, will you marry me?" I ask.

"Yes, of course!" she says, very happily. I clip the betrothal necklace around her neck. Then we switch places.

"Avatar Korra, will you marry me?" she asks.

"Yes, of course!" I practically shout. She slides the ring she got for me onto my finger. It looks beautiful. It's simple, yet elegant.

Asami
I look at the necklace Korra gave me. It's a chunk of meteorite, carefully shaped into an elegant pattern of a gear, and below it, a wave. Suddenly, she kisses me. Hard. I respond in kind. After a few seconds, we break apart.

"Let's continue this back at the apartment." Korra says.

"I agree." I reply. We practically sprint home. As soon as we're inside our apartment, the kissing resumes.

A/N: Sorry about the sort of clumsy chapter. I wanted to try them both proposing, since most of the fanfics out there seem to have Korra proposing to Asami. I'm going to keep it, but I'm sorry if it's a bit weird to read. Anyway as always, please comment!
