Unveiling Secrets

Chapter Three

Kenneth's POV

I can't believe I forgot my mate's birthday. I am already feeling bad about it, so CJ didn't have to be rude. So what if I made a mistake, people make mistakes all times.

"I'm sorry about CJ." Alpha Drayton apologies and I nod. I guess he is really mad at me today. He never talks so rude to me before, only today, I hope.

"I know CJ was being rude but Kenneth, you were not supposed to forget Roman's birthday. No matter how busy you get, you should have remembered about it." Amber speaks up and I sigh.

"I understand Amber. I didn't plan on forgetting. I don't know how it slipped my mind this time. I'm always eager to see Roman every year. He's my mate after all and I do miss him."

"We understand but Roman doesn't." Luna Cemil says and I stand up. I have to talk to my mate now, so that he must understand I didn't mean to forget his birthday. The Luna leads the way out of the dining room and make us wait in the living room as he goes to fetch my mate from his room. We sit down on the couch and wait patiently.

"I meant to ask Kenny. I didn't understand all they said about your mate. And he talked like-"

"Do you have a problem with how he talks?" I ask Ron cutting his words short.

"No," he replies and I nod.

I know he wouldn't understand all we said about my mate in there. I've never talked to him about my mate before. He might be my best friend but he's not my beta yet. We don't meet frequently unless it's on a mission or when we are training. This time is the longest that we've spent together and it's his first time meeting and seeing Roman. So while we wait for the Luna, I tell him general facts about my mate.

"Sorry I kept you waiting for long. It's just that I didn't find Roman up there." Luna Cemil says when he joins us in the living room after some minutes.

"What do you mean? Where is he?" I ask standing up.

"He's in the garden with a friend." I start walking out of the house the moment I hear where my mate is. "Kenneth," I stop and look back at the Luna. "His friend is, I mean just be careful. Don't act out hastily." I nod at him not even getting what he said. I shrug and walk out with Ron.

We both enter the garden and I start to follow my mate's scent. I always loved how he smell and I would smell him all day without getting bored. I know he will smell even great when we finish the mating. Roman is a very beautiful omega, yes beautiful and not handsome. He does not have that manly features on him and it doesn't help with his child appearance. Maybe when he grows later, he will have some of the manly features but not many. I will still love him in any looks.

When we get near to where he is, I hear him giggling and it brings a smile to my face knowing he's happy. Suddenly I smell an alpha and my instincts go wild. I run to my mate but what I see makes me halt in my steps. My mate is playing with an Alpha and they are laughing together. Jealousy slaps me in the face and I growl making them turn in my way. Roman walks away from the Alpha with a smile coming my way. I smile too but then his smile is no longer on his face and he stops coming to me. He frowns for a bit and I wonder what is wrong.

"What you want Kenneth?" The question catches me off guard and I don't reply right away making the frown on his face grow. He's never called me Kenneth before. Not even when we first met and I admit it hurts not to hear him call me his Ken.
