Chapter Thirty-Nine

Roman's POV

"I love you babe."

"I love you too mate." I say and wait for him to end the call. When it ends, I sigh and drop it on the bed as I fall right next to it.

"This is it." Lyn mumbles and I nod.

She is referring to us finally turning the age of 18 tomorrow. A lot of things will be happening after tomorrow and my life will change to what it will be from then on.

"And we are ready for the change."

"Yes Lyn, we are ready."

It wasn't easy living away from my Ken after getting a taste of living together but I managed. I left a week after his father's funeral even though I wanted to stay with him longer. I realized if I didn't leave then, I would have always made excuses for it.

My relationship with Ken has strengthen during the time I've been away. He visited me every weekend and I found myself looking forward to every visit. Then their was the calls coming in every night at 21:00. I am not sure how he managed to call on time everyday and one of this daily calls is the one that has just ended minutes ago. We talk about his day and mine, sharing our day's events just so the other should at least know what's happening in your daily life. For Ken it was mostly about him working his butt off which he referred to as cleaning the kingdom for when I go back to find it clean. He was getting rid of his mother's followers in the kingdom.

Only from yesterday, when he called me, he told me that he had been attending meetings with the council about my oncoming coronation as the ruler beside him. He attended the same meetings today and he told me they came to an agreement about how things will be done. Ken will tell me about the meetings in detail tomorrow when he comes to see me since it is both the weekend and my birthday.

A knock at the door sounds and I call in whoever it is to come inside.

"Baby you should get some sleep, it's late." Mama says when he takes a seat beside me on the bed.

"I'm not sleepy ma."

"What's wrong?"

I sigh and move myself until I'm resting my upper body on his lap. He runs his hand in my hair and I close my eyes, loving the feeling.

My parents, Elijah and Kacper, as well as EJ came yesterday afternoon. They want to take part in my birthday tomorrow and I am happy they came.

"Let's get you in bed."

"Mama can you sleep with me tonight?" I ask.

"Okay baby." He agrees and together we get comfortable on the bed.

I was taken away from my mother at a young age and I know it wasn't easy for him to let me go. Though it isn't pleasant to admit but my parents did miss my growing up moments. They did their best calling and sometimes visiting on my birthdays but there were times when they couldn't call or visit. I didn't hold it against them because where they couldn't be, my family here; mama C, papa D, DJ, Amber, CJ and Charles, made sure I felt home with love and care.

The door opens and mama C walks in. I scoot over to mama so that I make some space for mama C to lie down with us. Tonight I want to sleep in the comfort of my mothers because from tomorrow onwards, I'll only be sleeping by my mate. With the thought of Ken in mind, I sleep with a smile and content feeling.

I open my eyes with a gasp at how hot I feel. I throw off the blanket covering me and groan when someone touches me. My eyes are too heavy to keep them open so I close them and moan when I'm touched again.
