Zen and I woke up that Monday morning, excited to go to our first class. Yes, you heard that right. We were excited to go to college. Only because of the outstanding allegorical paper we wrote on that movie that we saw on Sunday.
"Hey, Zen? Are you ready?" I pulled open the bathroom door where Zen was fixing his hair in the mirror. His black hair always looked amazing whether he styled it or not. Mine on the other hand was dark brown and needed to be tamed.
"You know it." He replied and walked out of the bathroom. "I'll drive!" Zen yelled as he ran out the door. I slowly followed behind groaning at the fact that Zen always gets to drive.
"I expect to drive next." I demanded as I climbed on to his motorcycle and placed the black helmet on my head careful to make sure my hair survives.
"Don't get your hopes up. I'm the man, the man always drives the lady around." Zen laughed at his own joke and turned on the death machine. I scoffed and wrapped my arms around his waste tightly. Zen always seems to tense whenever I initiate a touch. Although, it only remains for a second before he's back to his nonchalant self. Zen speeded all the way to school. We entered the class at least twenty minutes earlier than we usually do. There was surprising more kids early than you would think.
"Mr. Rain and Mr. Shawn, it's nice to see you're here before the lessons start." The professor tilted his glasses at us and Zen rolled his eyes while I just nodded and pulled Zen along with me to the back. By the time we had gotten settled and talked about our paper some more the lecture had begun. "Alright, boys and girls. I expect that you guys did your allegorical papers and are ready to hand them in at the end of the class, but for now we're going to talk about why allegory should be present in writing and why it's useful." I was really getting sick of learning about allegory. I believe it's a really interesting concept, but we've been on the topic for a whole week! It's time to move on. Time seemed to speed up as Zen and I typed long noted on our laptops and soon enough the professor was yelling at us to turn in our papers on the way out.
"Ash? Will you turn in the paper while I go talk to someone?" Zen had asked while slowly walking backwards away from me.
"Sure, no problem." I took the paper off the desk and watched Zen approach a girl with long blonde hair and a perfectly skinny body. I tried my best to ignore my jealousy and walked down the steps to hand in the paper.
"Mr. Rain, I assume you and Mr. Shawn tried your hardest on this assignment?" The professor questioned as I handed him the stapled paper.
"Yes, very hard sir. We are very proud of it." I beamed at him, but only got a snarky comment in reply.
"Don't get too arrogant now." He snarled and turned to another student. Jeez, why so grumpy? I also turned around, but to see what Zen was doing. He was still talking to that girl. As soon as his eyes caught mine I gestured that I was ready to leave. He nodded and hugged the girl lightly before smoothly walking down the stairs.
"Don't worry, she's just a friend." Zen laughed at me and nudged my shoulder as we walked out of the classroom. I scoffed at him.
"What makes you think I care?" I asked him, but I only got a smirk in reply. "I actually have another class. Do you?" Zen seemed to have very few classes, but I never questioned him.
"No, but I'll drive you to your next one. Where is it?" Zen looked at me expecting an answer, but I always seem to get stuck in his eyes for a good minute. I shook my head to clear my thoughts. Zen seems to notice these things and chuckles every time.
"Um, English building." I finally answered. He nodded and we continued to walk until we reached his motorcycle. It was only a minute drive. I could've walked really, but knowing Zen, he would've insisted that he gave me a ride.
"Alright. I'll back in an hour to pick you up. Have fun, I guess. Just don't learn too much." I smiled at Zen. He was being very sweet to me for some reason. The fact that he said he'd be back to pick me up made my stomach feel fuzzy. I figured he would get tired of driving me around eventually, but like he said, he's the man.
"Bye, Zen. Thanks!" I yelled before entering the building and attending my class.....
Zen had picked me up a few hours ago. I insisted that he take me back to my dorm, however, zen said he wanted to hang out at his place. I didn't agree, but Zen gave me a choice. It was either go back to his apartment or fall off the motorcycle. So, I chose the one that was just a tiny bit less dangerous then dying.
"Ash!!! Let's watch a movie!" Zen called from in his room. I grabbed the pizza I was eating and entered his room.
"Okay, what movie?" Zen was shuffling around in the shelf full of movies. He pulled one out and held it high in the air. "Really? I love that movie!!" I squealed excitedly and jumped onto his bed ready for this movie.
"Thought you might like it. Alright let's get this movie started." Zen set it up and flopped back onto the bed. During the movie, I could sense Zen moving closer. I didn't really make an effort to show that I wanted him even closer than he already was. He would get there eventually. Somewhere during the middle of the movie his right hand had rested on my thigh and my left arm was around his neck. He seemed to be snuggling into my chest. I assumed he was getting tired because every now and then I would hear him yawn. Before I knew it, we were both asleep before the movie had ended. His body was entangled in mine like every time when he seems to fall asleep next to me. For some reason I always went to sleep easier when he was around. It was pleasant.
