Zen's pov

"Jesus Zen! How forgetful could you be!?" Ashtyn was yelling at me to get out of bed. However, it was a Tuesday morning and I only had a few classes that wouldn't miss me if I didn't show up. I'd much rather spend my day with Ashtyn.
"Ashy, it's not a big deal, I'm just not gonna go today." I mumbled and pulled the blanket down from my face just to see Ashtyn's beautiful brown eyes staring at me intensely.
"Zen, you can't just not go." Ashtyn's voice had lowered back to normal and I could tell he was on the verge of giving up. There was nothing he could do that would make me go to class, well there was something, but that's a whole different fantasy that you probably don't want to hear about.
"I'd rather spend the day with you, Ashy." I pulled out my bottom lip and activated the doe eyes. Ashtyn looked at me for a while before shaking his head.
"Fine, it's your future not mine. Move over." Ashtyn weakly pushed my side attempting to move me to the other side of the bed.
"As you wish, my prince." I mumbled again, but this time Ashtyn didn't hear me and I was grateful for that, knowing him he would've questioned me till he got the answers he wanted. I moved over only a tiny bit, if I moved all the way then I would've had to come up with an excuse to get closer to Ashtyn which I didn't have enough strength to successfully pull that off this early in the morning.
"Hey Zen?" Ashtyn looked over at me. I hummed in response and moved one of my legs in between his. "Why did those guys beat you up? I know it was a while ago, but I kept forgetting to ask you why." Really? Why now? I thought I had avoided that question.
"Well, it's not important." I quickly stumbled out my words. Ashtyn's stare had filled with confusion but hardened once again.
"Zen? Why would they just beat you up for no reason? There must of been a reason based on what they told me when they came from behind the building." I quickly snapped my head towards Ash.
"What did they say to you?" My tone had switched from calm and collected to nervous and on the verge of anger.
"They said that they beat you up because they heard you were messing with me and that they did it to welcome me to the college, which doesn't make sense because you aren't messing with me and I think it's pretty obvious to everyone that we are friends." Ashtyn's face was scrunched in confusion. He eventually softened his expression to a curious looking one and looked up at me waiting for my response. I wasn't sure how to answer him. I definitely have the answer to his question, but was I ready to tell him? Was I ready to confirm what everyone says about me? The girls at this college may love me, however the guys hate me with a burning passion. Maybe I should just tell him. I mean I know for sure he won't hate me, but I don't even know how I feel about the topic.
"Uh, well those guys are just really big jerks that think bullying someone is fun. I'm sure they're just jealous that all the girls want me and not them." I laughed awkwardly trying to play off the lie that just came out of my mouth. I mentally cursed myself. I thought I would say the truth if I just started talking, although things never go as planned for me. Ashtyn didn't laugh, he only looked more confounded.
"Um, okay. Well, when you decide to tell me the truth, I'll be there." This time Ashtyn actually saw through my lie and didn't pressure me to tell him. That's on of the things I love most...um like the most about him. He's never pushy and allows me to do what makes me comfortable. Ashtyn snuggled into my side and wrapped his arm around my waist. I smiled softly before embracing him and finding my way back to the deep sleep I was in before Ashtyn woke me up.
