Hey guys. I decided to make a part two for Rule No. 1. Let me just say that I tried. I really tried.

Previously on The Rules:

"Girls are smarter," you said with a bow. "And rule number one; never let the enemy distract you." You smirked and walked towards your team as they carried you, chanting your name.

You turned to Leo as he stood there, soaked in water and smiling. He mouthed: Next time. And ran away. You could feel your cheeks burning.

Did the kiss meant something?

*******

You sat on a table in the amphitheater buried deep in your thoughts. You were with Nico earlier but the guy went along with his boyfriend doing only-Zeus-knows-what. And now you're here all alone in a gigantic place full of couples and singles who decided to hang out with each other since they have no dates.

Tonight was the Valentines ball. Chiron planned it so demigods could enjoy and do whatever they want for the whole night. There were no rules, no curfew, just fun and craziness.

But apparently, you weren't having fun. In fact, you were just forced to be here because your friends invited you. You didn't want them to worry about you when they're supposed to have fun so you decided to join them. You were with them an hour ago before they went off preparing pranks or enjoying a romantic walk on the beach while you decided to stay beside the buffet table.

There were still a lot of campers inside the amphitheater, though. Most of them were in the dance floor slow dancing and some few were chatting on the benches, laughing and sharing jokes.

You couldn't help feeling sad. You had no date because you probably scared the only person that would've asked you out. And that person happened to be Leo Valdez, the scrawny son of Hephaestus.

It's been a few weeks since both of you had a conversation. Ever since you parted ways after Capture-the-Flag, things had been pretty awkward between you two. Every time both of you found yourselves walking into each other's direction, one of you always end up walking away. And when there are times when your eyes met, both of you would look away immediately. Both of you couldn't even be in the same room without everyone feeling the awkward atmosphere surrounding you.

In a shorter explanation, things changed. And not just between both of you, but literally both of you. Leo was working in Bunker Nine longer than usual and you've been having trouble focusing in your activities. It was funny how all of this was caused because of a kiss.

Another funny thing is that you used to find falling in love in such a short time was an absurd thing when you yourself fell in love when you barely interacted with the person you fell for. It was the sad truth. You and Leo were only able to talk with each other whenever you have the same activities or whenever Percy decides to host Truth or Dare games which you rarely attend to. You heard stories about the dares they gave to the Stoll brothers and most of them were really embarrassing.

You sighed and crossed your arms on the table, leaning your head on them. You recalled the things you've done to get the son of Hephaestus out of your head. It was only yesterday when you decided to consult the counselor of Cabin Ten. You asked Piper for a few advice and she gave you really helpful ones. But the only problem was how are you going to confess your feelings to Leo after everything that had happened.

Suddenly, someone near you cleared their throat. You sat up and stared at the person only to find Leo wearing a black tux. His hair was straightened and combed to the side, showing off his elfish ears. You felt your heart stopped for a second.

"H-hi," you stuttered.

"Hey," he said, rubbing the back of his head nervously. "I-I was . . . wondering if you-if you wanted to . . . dance," he stammered, smiling shyly at you. He held out his hand as he waited for your answer.

"Sure," you said a little enthusiastically, taking his hand nervously.

Leo pulled you towards the dance floor, continuing to the middle of it. Then Leo let go of your hand and faced you. He took your hand and placed it on his shoulder. He held your other hand and placed his free hand on your waist. You felt a little shiver run down your spine.

"Uh . . . I'm not sure how this works," you stammered, feeling a little embarrassed.

Leo chuckled. "Just look at my eyes and let the music guide you," he said.

Then you began swaying, A Thousand Years was being sung by an Apollo camper. You suddenly began to feel a little nervous. You couldn't tell if you should suddenly blurt out your feelings to him or not.

You stared at him for awhile, looking at his features. He had a few small scars on his neck and on his jaw. Your eyes travelled up to his lips. They were fixed into the mischievous grin he always had. Then your eyes met his once again. They were so brown that held a look of brokenness in them that you could get lost in the sorrow they held.

You were about to open your mouth to speak when Leo beat you to it.

"(Y/n), I-I want to . . . I want to tell something," Leo stammered out.

"What is it?" you asked. Your heart began beating faster, hoping that he would say the words that you were about to say.

"Uh . . . (Y/n), do you-I . . ." Leo trailed off and sighed. "I'm not really good with these things but I just want to tell you that . . . that I . . ."

"I love you," you said, continuing his sentence.

His face suddenly lit up. "I know it's weird," he said. "We barely knew each other. We only had short conversations and-"

"I know, I know," you said. "Our love story's messed up."

He grinned. "I love you, too."

Then Leo began to lean closer. Not knowing what to do, you closed your eyes, trusting your heart to do the next move. You felt Leo's lips against yours, moving at a slow pace. You kissed back, your hands moving to his neck. His arms snaked around your waist, pulling you closer against him.

And right now, the world around you felt like it was disappearing until the only people that exists in your world was only the two of you.

Because in the end, the only person you need was each other . . .

Like I said, I tried. I hope you liked it though.

I'm also so sorry that I wasn't able to update any stories before and on Valentine's day cuz the freaking internet decided to malfunction (Stupid internet!). Now the Internet's so slow I couldn't even publish more than one chapter without taking at least half an hour or so.

Still, I hope you liked this one guys.
