You sighed dreamily as you looked out the window of your parent’s house, sipping hot chocolate from a small cup. This was it, you thought. You were sure that this is going to be the best Christmas ever.

Suddenly, you felt arms snaked around your waist, making you almost jump a few feet if it weren’t for the hot drink you were holding.

“Jumpy, are you?” Luke, your beloved boyfriend, said.

You shook your head, a smile forming on your lips. “I’m just excited.”

“Yeah, me too,” he said, resting his chin on your head.

“Do you think [Mom/Dad] would be okay?” you asked worriedly. [He/She] was away at the moment because of a meeting or something. The worse part of it, [he/she] wasn’t going to get back until New Year’s Eve.

“Of course, why wouldn’t [he/she] be?” Luke asked.

You shrugged. “It’s the first Christmas that we’re celebrating without [him/her].”

“You know what you need?”

You shook your head. Judging from the look on his face, this is going to be amazing.

“Luke, we are not wearing matching outfits!”

“You’re no fun, [Y/n]!”

“This is just ridiculous!”

“Yes, you are going to wear this and that is final!”

“Luke,” you called out.

He turned to you with that crazy grin of his and said, “Yes, milady?”

“You suck.”

He chuckled, wrapping an arm around your waist. “You just don’t understand my ways of being sweet.”

You rolled your eyes, snuggling your face against the nape of his neck.

“I thought we were going to have an epic snowball fight,” he said.

“I changed my mind,” you said innocently.

Luke rolled his eyes. “Don’t make excuses. Besides, you look good in that jacket.”

This time, it was your turn to roll your eyes. He knows how you hated wearing the same clothes. You thought it was cute, but you never really had the confidence to walk around town with your boyfriend while wearing the same outfit. He was lucky you were going to play on your wide backyard. Or else you would kill him if your friends ever see both of you.

“Okay, ten seconds to build a fort,” he suddenly announced, leaving you standing in the same spot, confusion written all over your face.

“Ten!” he began counting.

After at least three seconds, you ran on the opposite side of the backyard and gathered as much snow as you can and build a fort.

“Four!” he said. “One!”

Suddenly, a snowball hit your face, making you land on your back. You would’ve ended up with a bleeding head if the snow wasn’t there.

You stood up, gathering as much snow as you can with both hands. Luke was still laughing on the other side and you secretly aimed two snowballs at his head.

“This is for shortcutting!” you said, throwing a snowball. “And this is for laughing!” You threw the second snowball.

You smirked as he fell to the ground. “Who’s laughing now, Lukey?!”
