The popular Arab Muslim unity indeed had to be broken. Divide and rule. The concept has been driven for centuries.
Hence the Arab Spring came into play. A wider war in the Middle East could result in redrawn borders that are strategically advantageous to Anglo-American interests, Israel and Iran. There has always been somewhat of a frenemy affair.
What resulted in the Arab spring was the constant bombardment of Sunni, Shia propaganda that did not raise many results in Tunisia, Egypt or Libya but came into effect when the Arab Spring spread to Bahrain.
Having succeeded in dividing and establishing chaos in Iraq, of which Anglo-American interests and Israel did not benefit from as previously planned and having spent trillions of dollars in instigating a war that would break a major obstacle, Saddam Hussain, the plan moved on to create the same chaos and divide in the Middle East.
Taking into already a major factor that a political party under Shia Clerics, Al Wefaq, whilst the Government mainly operating and labeled as Sunni, could be used to their advantage, the mass media controlled by the Anglo-American's and Israel went into play.
Labels were flowing and anyone that supported the government were Sunni, opposing as Shia.
During this period, uprisings that occurred in Saudi Arabia were also labeled in the same manner.
How else can you divide people? Label them. Force feed media to repeat labels until the masses refer to themselves with the label fed to them, hence creating an unnoticed divide.
Take an example where even automatic labeling occurs although knowing Al Wefaq, it was probably intentional.
Al Wefaq was constantly the "label"- Sunni/Shia.
The Sunni /Shia divide whether accepted or rejected is being forced fed by propaganda and the mass media directed from Washington to achieve the project announced in 2006.
However to date it has resulted in failure although the mass media continues to replay and reinvent a non-existing divide with the masses.
Having had an in-depth opportunity to sit with many individuals Sunni and Shiite, I have reached a conclusion as to the reasons why the majorities supported TGONU (The Gathering of National Unity) and the others Al Wefaq.
The majority Sunni's support TGONU as do members of the Shia community. However Al Wefaq is purely supported by Shiite.Al Wefaq receives its support because its followers feel they have no other alternative.
A note that probably is the main strong hold for TGONU is the fact that the majority support holds for Shaikh Abdul Latif Al Mahmood who was the first to represent a statement for the silent majority of citizens during February and March of 2011 [at the time there was no representation at all].
Another fact is that he is highly respected by many from all sects in the community.
However there has been a falling support for TGONU since 2011 due to no connectivity and very little information being provided to its members.
Another fact that led to the fall in support was certain figures amongst TGONU that did not represent the people's interests but only their own.
A huge lack in media unlike the Western and Iran Backed Al Wefaq has left a question mark as to the role of TGONU. People that joined TGONU in 2011 today feel that they are used to raise flags and go home, with little added value to their demands and requests. However when the need arises the volunteered suport is always there.
The strategy of TGONU and the message of the gathering:
Mobilizing the community, reinforcing (deepen) its political awareness, to initialize it for active political participation in a stable, safe, developing community.
