I feel bad :( Sorry guys. The last time I updated was in November, it is now February(4 Months).

Sorry guys, to make up for it I'll try to make this one as long as I can, while I'm in school anyway. I have about 30 mins to do this.

Chapter 17

"Guess what?" Jaymie asks excitedly

"What?" Kari responds.

"You're coming out today!"

"I know, you've said it about 3 times now."

"Sorry Kari, I'm just excited. Aren't you excited?" Jaymie asks.

"Well yeah, but you're kinda taking the fun away." She says quietly.

I look at Kari in question, maybe she's upset. It could be because of her parents or something.

"Jaymie, calm down and let the poor girl breath." I say jokingly.

She huffs at me before sitting back a little.

I was about to hug her from behind but the door openings startled me.

"Hello everyone, how are you doing today Kari?" The nurse asks.

"I'm as good as can be." She smiles brightly.

"That's good to hear! Well you can go home today. Are you excited?"

"Are we going home? Is mom and dad going to be there?" Kari asks Jaymie.

Jaymie looks at me before nervously turning back to Kari.

"Umm, well..." Jayme slowly responds.

"Hey Kari, guess what?" I say to her.

"What?" She asks.

"You're coming to my house today, you're gonna meet my BIG family." I say trying to cheer her up.

"So not home?" She asks.

"No babe, you're going to come livr with us for a while. I'll even show you the very big dogs if you're a good girl!" I say before winking at her.

"Okay! What kind of dogs are they?" She asks.

"I'm not sure, but they're VERY BIG ones!" I exclaim.

Kari starts getting excited and starts rambling to the nurse about living with massive dogs. I turn to Jaymie and smile an encouraging smile at her. Her eyes lock on mine and I can see that they're a bit watery. I put my hand on her knee and squeeze to try and encourage her.

"It'll be okay." I whisper to her.

She smiles back to me before talking to Kari about seeing the dogs and how big they are.

'Mom, Mama, we've told Kari that she'll be staying with us for a while.'

'Oh, what did she say?'

'She asked about her parents so we kind of avoided the question with something else.' I tell them.

'Oh, okay good thinking. What did you distract her with?' They ask.

'I told her that if she's a good girl then she can see the big dogs.'
