Chapter 19

Lady Batra had just returned from hunting her victim. But something wasn't right. She had sensed a presence of a male night walker in the house. She went to look for her husband and her step daughter. They were both fine. They weren't mark by the intruder. He was waiting for her at the courtyard and she darted to see him.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" She asked as soon as she met him in the eye.

The male vampire had curly blond hair. She had never seen him before and she was sure that she owed nothing to him either. He was still young. Someone had sent him to find her.

"So you're Lady Batra," he said arrogantly. His light brown eyes turned blue.

"I won't repeat my question twice," Lady Batra said warningly.

"Chico," the vampire replied curtly. "I come here to send you a message."

Lady Batra patiently waited as he looked sharply into his eyes.

"From your sister," he went on.

"What does she want?" She knew that Lady Erme wouldn't send a night walker for her. This was Scarlet's doing and something was not right had happened to her sister.

"She wants you to return to the city, as soon as possible."

"What if I don't want to?"

"Then I'll start attacking people in this town. That's what I've been told. You're doing a great job looking after this town for five years, don't you?" Chico said menacingly. He was just doing that to test her patient.

"She asked you to say that?"

Chico laughed sarcastically. But he tried not to be scared of her because he knew that she was a pure blood. She could destroy him easily but Scarlet had guaranteed his safety for this task.

"Scarlet is ten steps ahead of you now." He said.

"Is that it? Is that the message that you're sending to me after all the the troubles for travelling to five towns to get to me? Okay, she's strong now. So what am I going to do with you now? You know that I'm not going to hesitate to destroy you for intruding my place!" She moved towards him slowly.

"Whoa, calm down! You haven't heard the rest of my message yet."

Apparently, Chico knew what she was thinking. He seemed to know that Lady Batra would act that way on his appearance to her house.

"Scarlet, she wants you to return to the city as soon as possible. Billius is there already."

"I owe nothing from Billius!"

"Of course you weren't, but Erme does."

"What exactly do you mean?"

"Erme owed Billius a life and you, have given all your power to Erme. Why? It's not clear yet? Well, let me see... Billius can take his revenge on Erme, doesn't he?" Chico seemed to enjoy the twisted look on Lady Batra's face now.

"And what's that got to do with me?"

"Don't you care about your sister? I mean, she was your former companion in the past, didn't she? Billius could kill her and absorb all the power that you gave her~"

"Scarlet..." She whispered.

"She knows where and what you're doing now. The child upstairs was the one that Scarlet marked, right?"Chico smiled menacingly.

"You touch my daughter and you'll be dead!" She warned Chico.

"You can threat me, but I know that you are not as strong as you were before. It's not going to be easy to defeat you, but I'm sure that I can handle you all by myself. The life of your husband and daughter is on the line!"
