"Yes," I say tentatively. "But, Mum, he's not-"
"Be quiet, Sky," she snaps. "Give me his number. I want to speak to him."
"Mum!" I say, horrified. "I haven't even seen him today!" I lie, to get he off my back. She's obviously jumping to conclusions, as always.
"Is that the truth?" she asks sternly.
"Yes," I say vehemently, wishing this conversation could be over already.
"I'm going to trust you," she says, "but if you're ever late like that again I will call him up, be sure of that."
I breathe a sigh of relief and make my way up to my room, hoping to Skype Chris and apologise for running away so suddenly.
