Second Chance -kai parker

A/N: Caroline has her humanity on in this imagine.

You knew Kai was a psychopath. He was a monster but in a way you were attracted to him.  Yeah he murdered his family and was sent to a prison world most of his life. Yeah he wanted to kill Jo and the rest of his family for revenge. But for some reason you saw past that. You wanted to change him and you knew deep down he could change.

You kept all your feelings inside. No one knows about your feelings towards Kai except Caroline and you're surprised she kept it to herself considering she can't keep anything a secret.

Today you were going to rescue Damon's mother from her prison world. Bonnie has a plan to trap Kai there and you were afraid her plan was going to be a success.

You all arrived in the prison world, Caroline didn't go because she knew you were going to try and stop Bonnie's plan and didn't want to interfere. You all found Damon's mother and told her that you were only taking her back and not the rest of her "family". "No they must come with us" she refused to go without them. "Stefan needs you to turn on his humanity you have to leave them behind" Damon was getting frustrated and was about to loose his cool.

You left, thinking Elena would take care of this and searched for Bonnie and Kai. You found Bonnie and Kai arguing and went over to them. "Bonnie I said I was sorry" Kai has been trying to apologize to Bonnie about what he did to her but she wouldn't hear him out. "You're lying" Bonnie spoke, before Kai could say something you pulled Bonnie aside.

"Just hear him out" you told her calmly "no y/n why should I? He's a monster" Bonnie responded. "No he isn't" "why are you defending him?" Bonnie asked as she crossed her arms. "I'm not-" "yes you are" Bonnie cut you off. "Why are you defending him?" She repeated her question. You didn't know what to say. You were afraid she would figure out that you liked him, that you wanted to change him. "Well?" Bonnie wanted answers. "Everyone deserves a second chance Bon. Kai is no different" you spoke quietly.

Just as Bonnie was about to speak Damon and Elena approached the three of you with Damon's mother trailing behind. "She's coming" Damon announced. "Let's get out of here than" Kai said. Bonnie looked at him and you knew something was going to happen. "You're not coming with us" Bonnie said "what do you mean?" Kai was shocked "did I stutter? You aren't coming with us" Bonnie repeated. "Bonnie stop" you tried to help him "what y/n he can't be trusted. He's just going to hurt everyone" Bonnie yelled "no" you looked over at Kai and he was shocked you were defending him. "If he's staying than so am I" you walked over to Kai and grabbed his hand "he can change Bonnie. He's trying to change at least. Why can't you just let him?" You questioned. "Y/n I'm not leaving without you and I'm not taking Kai with us" "Bon Bon just do as y/n says so we can all get the hell out of here" Damon spoke up getting impatient. Bonnie sighed and did the spell.

All of you returned to mystic falls. Bonnie stormed out of the Salvatore home. You stood still and realized you were still holding Kai's hand. You let go and were about to walk out when someone grabbed your arm "y/n thank you" it was Kai. "I really am trying to change at least someone sees that" he stared at you for a moment "everyone deserves a second chance" "not me" Kai looked down. You lifted his head up and whispered "especially you" and left the house with a smile on your face.
