The next morning I woke up with all the other first year girls still fast asleep. I slipped out of my bed and padded over to the window, being as quiet as possible as not to wake the other girls. The sky was a dark stormy grey and rainclouds were begginning to form in  quite contrast to yesterday's perfect weather. Rain began to fall, pattering against the window panes.

I changed quickly and grabbed my bag, heading down to the common room. Sitting in one of the armchairs next to the fire, I began to read, "Hogwarts A History" once again. I heard footsteps approached behind me. I turned, it was Brit.

"Hey, do you want to head down to breakfast early?" I nodded in agreement and I followed Brit out of the portrait hole. The great hall was nearly empty - only a few scattered students munching on some breakfast to get a head start on the first day of term.

We sat near the front of the Gryffindor table and began to dig in. There was alot of food, even more than what I used to have back at the Burrow.

"Hmm... Are you excited for classes to begin?" Britt asked, gulping down a spoonful of cornflakes.

"Well, of course! I heard that there is a new DADA teacher, like always. I think she was the one on the far left at the table at the feast on saturday. I heard one of the older prefects say her name was Professor Lutterworth. I could be wrong though," I replied, digging into my plate.

"Yeah. I heard that she already took away ten points from Slytherin! And its only like the third day, classes haven't even started!"

"Wow! Better Slytherin than Gryffindor, though."

The Great Hall was begginning to fill up and the Gryffindor head of house, Professor Longbottom, was standing at the front of the Gryffindor table.

"Let's go grab our course schedules!" I said excitedly, yanking Britt's arm and leading the way up to the front of the long table.

Professor Longbottom was tall and muscular, probably about 30 or so years old.

The Gryffindors were standing in a queue that was increasing considerably as students noticed.

Within a few minutes, we had reached the front of the line, "Name," said Professor Longbottom.

"Weasley, Charlotte," I responded. Professor Longbottom fished out my schedule from his stack and handed it to me.

And that was my schedule. Today I would have Potions and Defense Against the Dark Arts.  I glanced over at Britt's identical schedule and we headed back to our seats on the long wooden bench.

By now, Valerie and Lacey had arrived and scooted into seats next to ours, pouring over their own schedules.

"They are all the same, right?" Lacey asked, comparing them all.

"Yup, they will be until we are third years, I assume." I responded while staring at the stormy ceiling. It still hadn't stopped raining since this morning and it didn't look like it would for a long while.
