Friday was here and I was nervous to get onto the pitch and try-out for Quidditch. Britt was very excited for me but she didn't really understand it - Quidditch that is. She said, Why play something that you can get injured easily and for what? A trophy? But she never said this to me personally, or anyone who liked Quidditch, so that left her and Lacey to be the only speculators.

Valery was jealous but encouraging, she said that she would watch my tryout and if I got in, I said that we could play afterschool. She liked that.

I got up and walked over to the window next to my bed. I eased open the latch and let the wind fly through my hair, bringing back memories of when I flew around the pitch during practice. I looked down to the ground,or atleast tried, it was many stories below so I couldn't see the earth. I reached my hand out the window to feel the breeze then leaned back inside.

I glanced at my schedule on my bedside table. It was double potions - oh joy! One period was enough, but two in a row? Where did it end?

Valery noticed I was awake and kneeled next to me, undoubtedly thinking.

We sat like this for a while, in complete silence, both lost in our own thoughts until I spoke up, "What are you thinking about?"

"My family. I have five siblings back at home. The youngest is two years old, Matilda, and I'm the oldest. The rest are Phylippa, Isolda, Agatha, and Kateryn. I miss them alot. Mom and dad, too." Valery responded, running a hand through her thick dark hair.

"I have a big family too. I only just figured out that my favorite brother had a twin who died in the battle of Hogwarts. I was so shocked. I have seven siblings but one is dead, and I have five nieces and nephews. So as you can imagine, family parties are quite the affair." I said, and Valery chuckled, understanding completely. "It's so weird, Britt, who I have known for years has no siblings. Wouldn't that be weird to grow up like that? It would be so quiet at times."

"I can't even comprehend. But I guess she would say the same about having seven siblings, eh?"

In the distance, the sun began its ascent across the morning sky.

I went down to the common room, taking Hogwarts, A History, along with me. It was very detailed and quite interesting.

I flipped open to a page at random:

To muggles, Hogwarts appears as an abandoned and poisonous build site. There is a tall, metal fence surrounding it and has a sign that states: "Danger do not enter! Toxic fumes!". For the most adventurous muggles, however, that choose to ignore the warnings, they soon forget what they are doing from a weak confundus charm over the entire perimeter. This keeps out most muggles.

But occasionaly, a few muggles make it in, this is a rare occurence, obviously, but once in the seventeenth century, a young muggle man, hoping to impress a girl he was obviously smitten with decided to cross the boundary. His wish to prove to her was brave and would venture into the 'dangerous and tocix land' but in reality the charm and he bypassed it and made it inside the grounds.

A muggle-safety team was immediatly dispatched and took the man out and washed his memory. No muggle in living memory, however has made it inside the walls of Hogwarts.

The article ended and I could hear footsteps above, anyway. It was time for breakfast. I walked down to the Great Hall with Britt and we sat down, piling our plates with toast and sausages.

Arnold slid into a seat next to me, "Where are the others?" he asked.

"Oh, Valery was up this morning but she fell back asleep. She and Lacey were exhausted after their potions lesson and astronomy class. Plus, when we all went up to our dormitory, they chatted for a while so they decided to sleep in a little later today but I hope they wake up for Potions class! Professor Grifiths is bad enough normally."
