A hulking figure was standing at the end of the large room, it's face cast in shadow.

"Who..is...that?" Valerie whispered hoarsly, her normally rosy cheeks had drained of all color.

My heart beat faster and I took out my wand. The figure remained standing there, not even registering us standing there.

"Who are you?" I called, my voice shook slightly.

The man stepped out of the shadows and I sighed gladly, "Oh Hagrid! You gave us the biggest shock!"

Hagrid laughed gruffly, "Sorry 'bout that girls. Now help me set up before they all get 'ere."

The room was decorated with colorful lanterns and paper cut-outs strung around the ceiling and walls. Fairylights twinkled cheerily and Hagrid had already lifted a large throne-like chair to sit at the end of the room next to the roaring fire.

"Help me lift this table against the wall." We walked over to where Hagrid was standing and we all carried the ridiculously heavy table against one wall. "The houseelves should be up any moment with the food."

They did indeed come precisely at that moment, atleast ten house elves swarmed into the room, each carrying a tray of sweets and sandwiches and pitchers of pumpking juice and butterbeer.

Britt and I laid out all the food while Valerie and Morgan searched through the cabinets on one side of the room for more decorations. Lacey and Quinn were out in the hallway as lookouts to see when the guest of honor arrived.

When we were atlast ready, the teachers and few of the older students came into the room to wait for McGonnagal and Professor Patterson.

We handed out little horns and party hats to everyone and we all waited anxiously for the door to open and reveal the two professors.

Suddenly, Lacey and Quinn rushed into the room, "They're coming! They're coming!"

Everyone got ready to yell surprise and then the door opened.

Professor McGonnagal's shocked face was priceless when they all shouted "surprise".

McGonnagal took a seat in the big chair and everyone took some food, finding seats on the armchairs, couches, and cushions that were scattered around the room.

"Wow, thank you guys so much for this!" Professor McGonnagal said when we were all situated. "I am truly going to miss you all so much!"

The party continued on and then Professor Patterson sent us up to bed saying, "You guys have to get to bed! The six and seventh years can stay out later."

When we reached Gryffindor tower we went straight to bed, the party had been plenty exhausting.

I don't even remember climbing into bed, just waking up the next day with the sun shining into my eyes. The others were all asleep so I decided to go down to the lake for an early-morning jog before they got up.

They day was gorgeous and the weather was perfect. I finished my jog and ran into the great hall where Britt and Lacey were already in there eating breakfast.

"Oh there you are! We were worried!"

"Why were you worried, I was out for like an hour!" I couldn't help but laugh.

"You don't know?" Britt looked at me with shock and I shook my head, "Read the paper!"

She handed me the Daily Prophet and on the front cover was an enormous photo of the Dark Mark.

THE DEATH EATERS HAVE RETURNED?

It is almost certain that the Death Eaters have indeed returned. Sources say that there have been several sightings of dark marks above houses and we urge all witches and wizards NOT to enter any building with the dark mark. They are rumored to be rallying around someone, but who it is not yet known. More information will be released it becomes available...
