"I don't see how it matters anyway!" I screamed at Jahnvi.
"So, what you are saying is that you're completely unaffected by the fact that Saloni and Pranav are going out?"
"They've been going out for a month now! Do you see me in bouts of depression?" I asked as I slumped into her bean bag.
"Okay ma'am. If you say so. Hey, Trisha, you have a message." She said handing me my phone.
It was from Pranav. Can't make it today. Got caught up! Call me when you get the message.
I called him up and waited for the ringing to stop. "Hello! Hey! I'm so sorry! Saloni hurt her foot so I thought I would have to stay back. But she seems fine now. When do I pick you up?"
"You sure you want to come? Will she be fine by herself?" I asked him.
"Oh no. The doc said she can walk around. So she's coming too."
"Oh okay. At 6 then?"
"Okay. Its just Jahnvi and you right?"
"Yes. Arnav said he'll be late."
"Okay!"
"Okay." I said and he cut the call.
We all had to attend a birthday bash for a guy from our class. As decided, Pranav's dad would be dropping the four of us at the venue.
I turned around to see Jahnvi grinning at her phone. "Prince Charming again?"
"Yes. He says he's coming here next month!"
"So we finally get to see him?"
"No. He's just coming for a couple of hours. He and his family have a crossover flight to Delhi."
"Ah. I see. So you still don't have a photograph of him?"
"No. Look, I told you. I trust him!"
"Omg! Fine! Don't tell me I didn't warn you!"
"Of course." She said and went back to talking to him. I walked up to her and sat beside her.
Do you like rains? She texted him.
No. Rains are too wet.
Oh. Well, I think they're romantic.
Well I've always related them to soggy newspapers. Not very romantic. xD
Of course. xD
I shook my head and went to her kitchen to salvage some food. I was just about to bite into a sandwich when her doorbell rang. I went towards the door and peeked in through the keyhole to see Pranav standing outside.
I opened the door and he smiled at me. "I wanted to ask Jahnvi if she had a painkiller." He said.
"I have a spray at home. Come with me, I'll give it to you." I screamed at Jahnvi that we were leaving and walked out with him. For some reason, I couldn't meet his eyes. "How's Saloni?" I asked him.
"She's fine." He said and then, awkward silence.
"How's Arnav?" He asked.
"He's okay." I said and we kept walking. We entered my house and I gave him the painkiller. He thanked me and went home. I stood there on my balcony as he walked away. "Jahnvi is crazy. We're best friends. That's all." I thought and went back inside.
