-----------

Ah, school. The best place to be after you broke up with a girl. Well, Emerald will probably have people around her, protecting her. But Ruby doesn't need anyone to protect her. She just needs to avoid Emerald. They do have classes together, but their default seating is away from each other. So, that will make it easy enough.

First class its Ruby who sits in the front and Emerald in the back-ish area. But Emerald will take the front seat just to look at her and whisper something to her friend. Normally that would phase someone. But as Ruby stepped into her period one classroom, and saw Emerald, sitting right as she predicted, it didn't bother her. She even felt a slight relief. She walked past her, ignoring the loud whispers ("She was actually such a bitch. I'm glad we split apart. I can finally start dating whoever I want.") And went to sit where Emerald normally would, beside Sapphire.

Ruby's heart was beating fast. She slid into the plastic seat next to Sapphire, facing straight. She kept her face from showing emotion, which looked odd dancing on Ruby's often angry face. Inside Ruby felt just as bland. She wasn't thinking too hard, her only thoughts were on the gossiping girls ahead of her and the blue haired girl next to her. But most the blue hairs girl.

The blue haired girl however, was looking through her bangs and Ruby. She was wondering what was swimming through her mind. Was she sad? Angry? Confused? Lonely? Lost? The list went on and on. Sapphire wasn't sure she knew what emotions were in her own mind. Perhaps she even had a bit of happiness, hyped up on a bit of adrenaline.

Ruby rested her head between her arms. Her face pressed into the desk. Normally someone would do this to cry, or hide. Ruby was doing neither. She was doing it so no one would notice the wide grin that was spreading across her features. To be honest with herself, she found it funny. Emerald gossiping up in the front, and all the whispers encircling her. It was all amusing. Was this really all they have to do with their life? Well of course it is, its highschool. But either way, it was funny as hell.

Class started and Sapphire seemed to be going through the motions. Contrary to what Peridot had said, she was miles away from earth. She was so focused on Ruby she didn't notice when Lapis was saying her name and waving her hand in front of her.

Pearl seemed uncomfortable. But Ruby thought the dreamy look that was floating across her face was cute. Although she couldn't see her eyes, she could imagine the glassy, far away look in her pupils. Lapis is giggling, "She's back."

"What do you mean?" Ruby asked snapping her attention towards the thin girl.

"Oh? Well she's just been very focused lately. If that makes any sense. She's usually a very space person. But, looks like she's back," Lapis responded smirking.

"Do you know why?" Ruby asked.

"Last time this happened it was exams. And the time before that it was because of a crush on a girl. The time way before the last time it was because of her- wait. I shouldn't be telling you this. Private matters, private matters," Lapis accidentally spilled.

"Wait! You gotta tell me now!" Ruby pried.

"No, no. If you want to know ask Sapph yourself," Lapis smirked.

"Whatever, whatever!" Pearl squawked (making Sapphire miss out on a tally point). "Just wake her up!"

"OK, OK," Lapis smirked again, smiling slightly evilly. She pushed Sapphire off her chair. The small girl fell to the side, her hair blowing out of her face momentarily. Long enough for Ruby to get a glimpse of Sapphire's widening blue eyes. Before they pushed back over in a messy way, and before Sapphire landed on her ass.

She quickly glanced around, starting to turn pink. She looked up at Lapis pulling herself to her feet and wiping her jeans. Pearl snickered. Ruby didn't make any noise. Just was turning hot. She saw Sapphire's eye. One of the few and only people to ever see it (not that she knew that).

"Haha, than you Lapis." Sapphire said, thick of sarcasm. Lapis shrugged and smiled innocently. Sapphire rolled her eyes and pulled out her notebook and pen, sitting down.

"OK, I'm ready," Sapphire said, turning an even darker shade of pink.

"Finally," Pearl hissed. Sapphire glared through her bangs. She wondered if that would count as a squawk or not. She decided it did and marked another tally down in Pearl's section.

"What do we need to do today?" Lapis asked. Looking at Pearl (who had basically become the organizer of the group).

"Well," She sighed, "we got the parts organized. And I assume you can learn it on your own time. So we need to plan out the video."

"And how do we do that?" Ruby asked.

Pearl sighed, "we need an idea first."

"Well, its about people being crazy," Lapis spoke up.

"Dark room? Lack of lighting maybe?" Sapphire asked, jotting down ideas on the other side of her notebook. Ruby wrote something down in hers as well. Well, three things actually.

"Random bursts and streams of white light!" Ruby put out, getting excited.

Sapphire smiled slightly glancing up at Pearl, seeking her approval. She nodded her head, liking the ideas. Sapphire continued to write down everything people were spurting out. And her own thoughts of course. They were supporting each other and agreeing with every idea. This was the first time they had worked as a team.
