You could say that you didn't have the average teenage life. You could say you did.
You had good grades was passing, planning to graduate.
But you also fought the supernatural half of your teenage life.
You have lost so many people. They were gone or dead.
Derek. Isaac. Aiden and Ethan. Allison. Danny. Jackson, even though you're kind of glad he left.
Maybe you're just thinking about these people because it's the one year anniversary of Allison's death. She was your best friend. You met her on your first day of school and it was like instant connection.
When she died, it was like a hole was ripped from your heart. From your life. Like you lost something that you couldn't quite get back. But you didn't have time to grieve. You had to defeat the Nogitsune and the Oni's.
Maybe it wasn't time. Maybe it hadn't quite hit you yet.
It didn't hit you until you found her shirt underneath your bed. But instead of crying, you laughed.
She was looking for that shirt for over a week. You fell against the wall, you laughs turning into sobs.
You couldn't do this. You couldn't cry. You had to be strong. You swiped the tears from your cheeks, sticking the shirt in the bottom of your hamper before taking a deep breath and fixing your mascara.
"You're strong." You said to yourself in the mirror.
Your phone rang as you looked at yourself in the mirror. It was Scott. "Hello?"
"Y/n, hey, can you come down here? Stiles' dad got in an accident at work and Stiles is a mess." He says quickly through the phone.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be there in 10." You hang up and grab your keys before speeding to the hospital.
You got inside, seeing Stiles sitting in a chair, holding his head in his hands, his foot tapping quickly.
"Stiles? Hey." You sat beside him, putting your hand on his back.
After a few minutes of silence, he took a deep breath and wiped his face. "An animal ran him off the rode. An unusually sized animal with red eyes."
"How can we protect people if we can't even protect ourselves?"
"We can't think like that, Stiles. We have to be positive, think of the best."
"What's the best of this situation?"
"Um," you thought. "He'll get time off to spend with you."
"If we makes it out."
We both sit in silence for a few more minutes as his soft sniffling feels the room.
"Why today? Of all days."
He knew too, he knew it was Allison's anniversary. "Is this some kind of revenge? Karma?"
You lean down in front of him, taking his hands in yours. "We are all going to feel today. It's going to affect us all, all right? I felt it today too. But it wasn't your fault. It wasn't anyone's fault."
"Is this is what this is going to be all the time, death always surrounding us?" he takes a deep breath. "I can't do this anymore."
"Stiles, look at me, don't say that, okay? We always make it, we always do and today is going to be hell but-"
"If you're going through hell, keep going." He cuts me off.
"Yes, yes," you wipe his tears away from his cheeks. "He'll make it, Stiles. We'll make it."
You kiss his forehead softly before pulling him into a hug.
An hour later, the doctor comes out, his clipboard in his hand.
"Good news, he's going to be fine," you hear Stiles let out a breath he was holding in. "But he will be out of the job for a while."
"Oh thank god." Stiles shakes his hand and he gives you a hug.
"We're going to be okay." He says.
