You and Dylan have been best friends for like ever. Like since the womb.

You two were a special kind of friends. You two were like that couple that everyone wanted to be. But you weren't a couple, you were just really good friends.

You two have lived across from each other for almost your entire lives. And you had this tree house that you two would go there together and you had your own little world.

There were string lights, blankets, it was everything that every teenager wanted.

You climbed up the ladder and opened the hatch before climbing in. 16 year old Dylan leaned across and kissed you quickly.

You sat beside him, cuddling into his side.

You two were inseparable. You two were together almost every moment of every day. Like you said before, you weren't together, you weren't like an official couple, but you were something special.

"I need to tell you something." Dylan said, stroking your hair.

"What is it?" you teased. "Did you find someone better than me?"

He didn't even crack a smile. You knew something was wrong.

"I got a role," he says, stroking your cheek. "And I'm going to be gone for a while at a time."

You felt like your world came crashing down around you. Your best friend, your everything, he was leaving.

"S-so you're gonna leave?" You asked, sniffing back tears.

"Yes." He nods.

"When?"

"Tomorrow."

Your head snaps up, a tear falling down your cheek. "Tomorrow?!"

"I know that I should have told you earlier but I didn't want to ruin the moment. I didn't want to change our ways just because I'm leaving for a while." He says, swiping the tear away with his thumb.

You jumped on him, hugging him tightly. He wraps his arms around you and pulling you into his chest.

You two just stayed like that for a while. Enjoying each others presence. Being together almost every second of the day to hardly seeing each other is something that neither of you were familiar with.

You remember when you used to meet at the diner. Where you two grew up together, there were so many memories there. You remember when you ran in, jumping on his lap, kissing his cheek quickly. You remember everyday that he'll meet you at your locker. You two would never get tired of each other, no matter what happened, you two never had a fight, never had an argument.

You know that you both loved each other. Maybe more than just a friendship. But it never came up, it never affected your relationship.

So the next day when you went to the airport with him, you hug him real tight. You kissed his lips once last time before letting him go.

"I'll be watching you." You smiled through your tears as his hands slipped from yours.

*4 years later*

At the beginning, you were excited to see him every few months. It was like he never left, you know?

You two would go hang out in the tree house for the weekend or so that he was home.

When he wasn't there, you'd sit down every Monday or Tuesday night and watch him on Teen Wolf.

Then things changed. Seeing him every time he came home started decreasing. You both started getting older and then you just stopped seeing each other.

Everything became awkward. Everything became weird. You two were like strangers now.

The tree house was torn down, right along with your relationship.

He said that he didn't love you like he did anymore.

That he moved on.

That things are different now.

It ate at you, it ate at you for days. For weeks. Months.

I mean, sure, yeah, you've met a few guys in between, but they never lasted because you always thought that Dylan would always come back to you. That you two would always find each other in the end.

So when you bought a plane ticket from your savings and flew to California, found your way to the studio and went in.

They were in the middle of filming but you were so angry you didn't even care.

His eyes glanced towards you, shock written on his face.

"If you think that you can come home and tell me that you don't love me anymore, then that's-that's bullshit." You yelled at him, tears prickling your eyes.

"Y/n-"

"No, no Dylan. I've been in love with you since the day I met you in that sandbox an-and we became best friend. Not only best friend, Dyl, we became something more. We became one, and I know-I know that acting has always been your thing and I know that's what you wanna do, so I-I was excited for you. I was proud of you. I am proud of you. But you left, and you left and you left and every time that you left, it was like it was slowly tearing us apart."

"Y/n-"

"Dylan, let me talk, okay? What we had, what we had together, you don't get to have that everyday. I love you to death and back, but you can't just cut us off like we're nothing. Because we were something. You mean everything to me."

He took a step forward, slowly making his way towards you.

"Those goddamn brown eyes make me swoon every time I see them an-and I have missed them so much. I love you Dylan, all right? I love you so much an-"

He steps forward, grabbing the back o his neck, slamming his lips onto yours.

The familiar warm feeling spread through you as you relaxed into the kiss, wrapping your arms around his neck.

"I love you too, y/n," he pulls back from the kiss. "I love you so damn much."

You smile and stand on your tippy toes to kiss him again.

"Someone ask her if she acts!" Someone yells.
