The first time Piper stole something, it was from the Electronics Mega Mart in Queens. She came across one of the workers and asked him if she could have a look at one of their computers-only to be laughed at and called stupid. Upset and angry, she used her unknown charmspeak to get the man fired.

When she told the rest of the Seven, Percy's eyes widened and he started laughing. Turns out that the man she got fired was Gabe Ugliano, Percy's stepfather.
