A few minutes after my dialogue with Wrath...
I sat before my family in the dinner table hoping to voice my concerns without stumbling over my words. Grandma Eve and Grandma Ciel were also present. Jehovah was nowhere to be seen and Mary was sitting in my usual spot in the table.
Everyone was silent except for Lust who was nonchalantly munching on the potato chips served in the middle of the table. The atmosphere was quite heavy and tense...
Everyone turned to me. Shifting their piercing gazes towards me, their eyes expecting something from me. If I was the same guy from before, I bet I cringed at their slightest movement. But this is it...the moment I will take to tell them what I'm going to do.
"Everyone..." I took a deep breath. Savoring what could probably be the last moments in which they would still consider me sane. And with resolute will I proclaimed,
"I'm going to kill everyone on this planet, and as I do so...I would like to go to the Old Earth." Silence. What a very ironic reaction...I was hoping they would go,
Are you crazy?! Or What are you thinking?!
"Uh...guys?" I tried to get their attention, but all I got were the sudden giggling of everyone present which threw me off...and annoyed me.
"Didn't you hear what I just said?!" I questioned them but they continued giggling for some reason.
I slammed my hand on the table but to no avail. They were still giggling. Lust slammed his palm on his face probably thinking, Oi...
"We already knew that you're going to do that." said Gramps.
"As a Destroyer, you have no choice but to destroy everything. But how do you plan to reach the Old Earth?" asked Lust who was still eating the potato chips.
"Yeah my dear? As Grandma Eve here explained, Meister forcefully shut off the portal. Currently there is no way to reactivate it." mother had a concerned look in her face.
"That...I do not know..." I said dejectedly. I was hoping they would know how to activate it since Grandma Ciel, Grandma Eve and Gramps came from the other side.
"That said, why do you want to go there? That place is a completely barren wasteland. Nothing lives there anymore...it would only be a fruitless endeavor..." stated Gramps.
Even if he says that, I stood firm to what I believe and stated, "I have reason to believe that Meister is still alive somewhere on the other side of that portal..." much to everyone's surprise.
"My husband...alive?" A small glimmer of hope shone in Grandma Ciel's eyes. I guess any good news about Meister perks her up.
"How would dad be alive? He died fighting that horde right?" asked Grandma Eve.
Once she asked that, I explained my theory,
"Remember the time Hannah and I went to the church?" I slightly winced at the mention of Hannah's name, "We had a small dialogue with Meister himself through the Future Plane before he shattered the connection." I took a deep breath...I bet what I will say next is gonna throw their minds into disarray...
"He said...that my ancestry to him did not come from dad...but rather from mom." The moment I said that, a chain reaction of surprise followed.
Lust suddenly choked from his food, Grandma Eve and Grandma Ciel's eyes flared up and mom and dad looked at each other, shocked.
"Eh?! Impossible! You are my son right?!" dad suddenly stood up and demanded an answer.
"Yeah! And I'm your dad's grandfather!" Said Gramps.
Before anyone else could interject, I clapped my hands to silence them, "Let me finish first! Damn it this is what I hate about grown-ups..."
Everyone settled down except for mom who was still staring at me with apparent shock.
"Yes you are my dad. But gramps, " Gramps looked at me, "You never mentioned having a wife..."
Much to his shock, Gramps suddenly fell into deep thought, "Yeah...I never did mention having a wife...let alone a girlfriend..."
"Pffft! You? Having a girlfriend? Preposterous!" chuckled Grandma Eve. What she said is true. I can't imagine Gramps having a girlfriend...
"Yeah...it sounds preposterous. But I think Gramps never did have offsprings to begin with." as I said that, the atmosphere got a lot more heavier.
"Reall- ahh!" Gramps suddenly held his head like he was in pain.
"Woah old man! What's happening?" Lust rushed to the writhing Gramps.
Though it was strange to see him concerned, I guess Lust did care for the old man.
Everyone just looked at him with confusion. Everything they knew is starting to fall apart. Even I'm shocked by the absurdity of my words...
"Memory tampering." everyone looked at me, "Someone tampered with your memories about the past. That is why I am willing to go back and sort it all out." I stated.
"Impossible Lucifer...no one can tamper a Dominants mind. No one is near capable of doing so, not even a Destroyer!" Grandma Ciel retorted.
So says Grandma but, "What if it was another Dominant's doing?"
As I said that, I realized that the gravity of the situation is even worse than I originally thought. The realization of everyone that their memories may have been tampered with has started to make them doubt everything.
"Darling...even if it is a Dominant's doing, who would be brazen enough to do so? and why?" Mary asked as she started to also munch on the potato chips.
"I think the answer lies in the Old Earth. Whoever it was that was my link to Meister and is my mother's ancestor may hold the answer..." I looked at both my grandmothers,
"That said...I believe you hold the key to opening the doors. Afterall you came from there right? Grandmothers?" as soon as I said that, both of them experienced an intese migraine just like gramps who was still writhing in pain.
Wait a sec...if I read their minds...will I know the answer?
"Hey! Grandma? What is happening?! Lucifer do something!" Mother was already panicking.
"Mom...I'll try eading their minds. Please leave them be..." I requested.
"Wait...Lucifer! Don't-" too late...I already activated my-
The wind howls in my mind...the scenery changed into a blurry image...shifting continuously...a gate? I see the silhuoette of six people...or are they people?
Then the scenery changed into that of a barren wasteland filled with any kind and shape of sword that one could imagine that were stuck on the ground. Like a pincushion riddled with needles...
But that is not what caught my attention...before me, a crimson creature knelt. Holding itself up as it gripped a long crimson sword.
Its body was covered in wounds...and it was coughing out blood, "Ah~looks like this is it..."
Wait...it can talk? It looked at me with its downright hideous face...skin of crimson color, obsidian horns as long as my forearm, hair of ashen gray...and eyes of an ominous crimson color...
A true definition of what a demon really looks like...
But...its face is blurry like a mild censorship that forgot to censor the eyes...
"For their safety...it must be done..." it said with a cough. I do not know if it was talking to me or to himself but whatever he said is quite strange...
After that my vision warped once more and I was back in reality...
I stared at them dumbfounded by what I just saw...
Was it a memory of the grannies? Shit! I can't make heads or tails of it!
But now I am sure my grannies know something...
"Everyone...tell me everything...every detail...now!"
This time, with grim determination...I take charge!
