Bella P.O.V

I walked downstairs while Rosalie and Alice were leading me to the kitchen where Esme was fixing dinner up for me.  I sat at the table watching as Esme was struggling to make my food.  I couldn't help but to laugh as I watched her.

She turned to me with a smile, "What? Want to help me or something?"  I laughed again and nodded, walking over to the stove, while Esme was still trying to figure out how to pour some soup into a bowl.

"Esme you're still doing it wrong, here," I said as I grabbed the bowl from her, poured the soup into the bowl and put it in the microwave, "see it's really not that difficult," I teased as she smiled and gave me a hug.

I sat down with my food, Alice continued to watch me as I ate.  I started to wonder why everyone else wasn't eating, so I decided to look up to Alice and ask, "Alice, how come you're not eating?" I was curious, but she just continued to look at me.

"Um...we're not hungry yet," I thought it was kind of weird that it took her a significant amount of time to answer, but I just shook off that idea.

I finished eating, and went to the living room where Alice, Rosalie, and Emmet were sitting.  The other man that was there, I guess that's Edward, got up from his seat and walked away.  I sat next to Alice on the couch and whispered to her ear, "I don't think he likes me that much huh?" She shrugged and we continued watching TV until it was time for me to go to bed.

I walked upstairs to my room, and closed the door, but before I did, I saw Edward looking at me from his room like he was analyzing me.  I waved at him, but he shut the door, without waving back.  I closed my door with a sigh and got ready for bed.

I laid there for about an hour not sleeping, I couldn't sleep, I didn't want to sleep. I felt that if I did sleep, when I wake up, I'll be woken up by my dad, and none of this would be real.  None of this would, no Esme by my side, no Alice to make me smile, none of this would be real, and I was scared to fall asleep.  A few moments later I closed my eyes, knowing that I would wake up scared.

Edward's P.O.V

I sat in my room, knowing that I had upset Bella, I could see it in her eyes.  She thought I didn't like her, but the truth is, I do.  It's just the feeling of being around her has changed me.  I don't know what this feeling was, but I knew it changed me.  I laid on my couch and turned on some music clearing my head from all thoughts about Bella.

***Later***

I heard screaming coming from the end of the hall, it was Bella, I could hear her cries for help.  I immediately ran out of my room straight to hers.  I found her kicking and screaming in bed.  I walked to the side of her bed, and I saw little tears running down her face.  I knew she was dreaming about her father and how he abused her, I could feel it, and it made me feel bad for her.

I laid down in the bed next to her, her arms stopped swinging around, she started to calm down as I wrapped my arms around her.  I could feel her heart starting to ease down, as she moved closer to me.  Her head was now laying on my chest, her tears were drying up as I heard her sigh.  Her heart started to beat at a normal pace, and I could feel and hear it against my side.  I couldn't help but smile down at her, and kiss the top of her head.  I felt her arms wrap around me as I continued to smile, watching her as she got comfortable in my arms.

***Later***

I watched Bella the whole night, she didn't scream one bit when I was holding her, I watched as the morning light shined on her face as her eyes fluttered open.  I felt her arms release from me as she moved to face her head to me, with a smile.

"Good morning Bella," I said to her returning the smile.

She started to frown as she looked down at her hands, "How did you get in my room?"

"You were screaming during the night, I came in to calm you down, so I slept here, I didn't want to wake you," I said, her smiling returning to her face.

"But I thought you didn't like me?" Her eyelashes fluttered as she looked into my eyes.

"Bella I do like you, I just," I paused for a moment, "never mind," I said as I got up from the bed and walked towards the door. "You should probably get ready, Esme will fix up your breakfast." I turned and walked out the door, closing it behind me.
